Default Intro

Hello everyone I kno this is for Camaros and Firebirds which I do own a 98 firebird but a dodge girl by heart
I read about flushing out metal shavings in the engine which I'm going to give a shot since I have no knocking or tapping going on yet now my dilemma is the shavings have gotten down in my crank shaft (maybe camshaft its on the bottom of the engine)and the bearing have over heated & locked up a few times which I'm seethe shaft if not the bearings will need replace. Mind u i have a 2008 dodge charger 3.5 h/o and my mechanic is telling me I need to replace the whole engine. I only have 116,275 miles on it.
any good advise would be greatly appreciated
thanks
