Newbie from Cincinnati, 06 GTO
Hi to all and thanks for letting me join. I am recently retired, live in Cincinnati OH area. Use this 38Chevy454 name on many forums, so just using it here as well, although I actually sold that car about 1.5 years ago. I recently got an 06 GTO in a trade deal for another vehicle I was selling. My first foray into late model performance. All of my other hobby type vehicles are old hot rods and my one musclecar 1968 GTO. My other hot rods are:
1. 1937 Chevy Utility Coupe (aka Ute) from Australia. Stock original except 12v conversion. I imported it from AU, it was built by Holden.
2. 1937 Ford Ute from AU as well. This one is hot rodded, 302SBF/C4/9-inch. Currently in need of finishing put back together from some body repairs and paint job; it is now silver color.
3. 1952 GMC pickup. Has Jaguar IRS and IFS, 350 Chevy/700R4. Great driving truck that handles and stops great thanks to the Jag suspension.
4. 1968 GTO. Have owned for 40 years so far. All original, rebuilt engine and repainted 40 years ago.
OK, now on to the 06 GTO. Has pretty extensive mods. 405 LS2 stroker, probably around 600 flywheel hp. 6 speed with a hybrid ceramic clutch, coilover susp, better brakes, etc. Fun car that the previous owner had set up for track days more than drag racing. I've only driven on the street so far, but even with sticky summer performance tires it is traction limited in lower gears. It certainly is fun to drive. I will post some questions on the other forums to learn more about the car and the specific parts I have. Or at least the receipts I have and working to identify what all I have in this car.
