Ok I am new to this site and I have looked through the acro post but I just want to double check. I am looking for information on the 03 5.3 vortec motor, based on the post that would be the gen 3 motor correct? I just want to make sure I am reading the proper forums.

When we named the 60-2 AND the 36-1 crankshaft target in the US patent over 20 years ago,
I though that was a good name for the crankshaft target.
GM renamed that (60-2) to the 58x name, NIH ?
(Not Invented Here)
There are actually 59 teeth as "seen" by the EMS (Engine Management System).
The crankshaft target GM used, when the patent was in force, was the 24xe.
My question is what, besides 24 teeth, does that (24xe) stand for in crankshaft position terms ?
