Hello I am new here, I am in the Navy, 
and have a 98 Trans Am.That is my second pride and joy, my first is my 3 yr old, who loves to go to the track with me, and be strapped in when we go down it.. but dont tell my girl..

Glad to serve, and keep this country free, so we can tear *** in our fast cars!!! 
any ideas why i grind of i cant even get it into 5th from 4th, and why 3rd grinds when the engine is cold? It really hurts 
when it grinds. Also, isnt a 98 trans am supposed to be posi? cause the dealership put a new rear end on it, and my buddies 97 is posi... hmmm i wonder? 
any help would be great on these issues. I have more, but not that much room here. any help and i would worship u

how much do syncros cost, is it somthing that theres more than one of? and if so how much for each one?
There is more than one. I would have a transmission shop look at it before you do anything like that. They are worn down by jamming your shifter around and by downshifting without matching revs.

First, i would like to say thank you fellow Navy brother. Thank you for helping me serve our country. Right now i am on DEP until a certain day next year. I know it will be a big change once i get in......and i can not wate!! Do you have any pictures of your car?
