Default newbie with a question

i just picked up my 01 ws-6 off of e-bay....i took the risk of buying the car sight unseen. luckily everything worked out okay. its pewter with everything still stock on it.

i was just wondering who is running slp loudmouth and if anyone has anything to say good or bad about it. are there any HP gains or losses because i have heard of some catback systems causing you too lose HP. thanks in advance for your help.

Congrats on the new bird! The loudmouth catback is one of the best performance-wise because it doesn't have a muffler, just a simple straight-thru resonator. It sounds good with catalytics on the car, but is too loud/raspy if you ever decide to remove the cats. Its a VERY popular system.

Welcome, congrats on the new car. I have a loudmouth on my car, I think it sounds great as long as you have cats.

Loudmouth's are great, but be for-WARNED, once you add headers and other things, the sound will become very loud and annoying.
Just do a search on the board and you will see the pro's and con's.

oh yeah almost forgot....... WELCOME

Loudmouth is a great bargain if you only plan on minor mods. I would look to something else if you ever want to get headers.

Default SLP Loudmouth or Carl Black exhaust???

I am thinking of going with the Loudmouth myself. Either that or Carl Black sells the exhaust that the Blackbirds are equipped with. I have not heard any reviews of the Carl Black exhaust, but I know that it is roughly twice as expensive as the Loudmouth, so I would like to know more about it before I decided on one or the other. ...Oh yeah, and welcome aboard!

It's a GMMG catback. Several of us have it, but it's not very loud when comparing it to the loudmouth.

The SLP LM is a good flowing exhuast and it relatively loud with headers. If you are going to do headers I would go with a quieter exhuast, SLP Dual/Dual, Hookers, or Borla (this is adjustable and you can make it quiet or loud).

I'm biased towards the magnaflow. Sounds great no matter what you add/ subtract from your car.
