Default this a good deal for 2001 SS?

I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS A GOOD DEAL.
I have been looking through autotrader.com and found (my dream car!!!) this red 2001 SS (6-speed) with only 25,000 miles on it for $14,999 ( i also like the fact that its a 2k1 and it has the LS6 intake, no EGR and a different cam (i think). Might be paying cash i was hoping to get it around 14,000 or maybe even 13k which i kind of doubt. heres a pic of the car........
if that doesnt work try this link......
It looks like a beautiful car. What do u guys think. Is it a good deal. I think its an awsome deal......please help (i just turned 17)

That's a real good price. Almost too good to be true. If everything checks out ok, you stole it!

I hope it checks out. That's a steal if it's in good shape. I bought my 99 WS6 not even a year ago for 18K. It had 39K miles on it and I thought that was a good deal....

Thats a pretty good deal, I paid less then that for mine and its in great shape. It had about 5k more miles then that. As long as its in good shape get it. Let the modding begin.

yeah i was thinking about a T/A but man those things are to expensive (just out of my price range). When i first started looking for cars about a year ago, i was looking into LT1 cars because i thought getting parts for LS1's were hard to find. WRONG. Thanx for all the replies.

parts for LS1s aren't hard to find, they are just ridiculously priced. That will change one day, however. So how did you get that kind of money being 17, if you don't mind me asking. Just curious really. That car sounds/looks awesome though.

no problem answering that question. My 2 older sisters (21 & 23) dropped out of highschool and im the last child so my parents (divorced) are counting on me to graduate and go to college which i really plan on doing. My dad just recently sold his house for $700,000 and i talked him into buying me a car since were moving to Gainseville florida from where we are now (near Miami) and ill probably end up going to college at the University of Florida. But anyways im giving my dad my truck and hes buying me a car for around this price range which suprised me a bit. But it all has to do with the family. My oldest sister hates my dad and my mom cant stand him either so i guess since i live with my dad i get the good treatment.....i dont know but i think its fair. My dad also needs a ride because him and his GF are sharing one truck which is hard since my dad owns a business and his GF has a 2 year old girl. Another reason, i think, is hes buying his GF an Avalanche ( )
We arent rich, just our house sold double for what we built it for 20 years ago.

If you're seriously in the car market, I'd suggest getting a carfax report on the car. If you have the VIN #, you can always ask on the forum for one or pay the $25 for a months subscription and get some more history on that car or any other car you're looking at.

Good lucK!

I agree w/ 99hawk325 get the carfax just to be safe. If it checks out it looks like an awsome deal. I'm actually looking for one for my son. Now I know what state to go to.
BTW: Whats wrong with Avalanches'??

Carfax does not always show everything. Two of my freinds had wrecks and carfax did not show either of them. I guess its better then nothing.

great deal on that car man. but please get a carfax before you buy it. When you buy a used car, especially a previously modified one you have to look real hard for things that its previous own has tried to cover up and make look stock again. Try and figure out every thing the owner has done to it so you wont be suprised later.

hey man my truck i have now doesnt look bad but it has no AC and its black so when i get out of school and hop inside with 2 other people squished in with me ITS FUKIN HOT. My truck also has 196,456 miles on it with out ever rebuilding it. Pretty impressive for a little TBI 305. When i got it in november of last year from my dad it had 176,XXX miles on it. I visit my mom hoo is 100 miles north of me almost every weekend so that might explain the 20,000 miles i put on it. Havent even been driving it for a year. good ole GM though.
