Great choice. My 98 has been a great daily driver since I bought it new back in 98. Now it has about 100,000 miles on it. No major problems yet. Since you got a A4 a nice converter will really help out a lot. As far as headers go save up a few months and go with Kook's or QTP's long tubes. I went with Kook's. If you want a awesome sound go with true duals. TSP has their's for $420. At least thats what they use to cost. Most people say SFC(Subframe Connectors) should be the first mod. I didn't get them till a few months ago. I would do them soon. Get a Lid also just go to one of the sponsors and look at lids IMO they are all about the same or you could do a search on LId and find tons of threads on them. If you need any more help we are all here for you. Have fun with it.

very first mod that i'm doing to my car are subframe connectors. Your'e going to want a really sturdy right from the beginning. My choice would be BMR boxed SFCs.

Why does Flomaster suck? sound or performance wise? Catback? brand or type? New to this as you understand..
Thanks

Congrats on the new Z! Looks to be very clean and well kept.

Flowmaster mufflers in general do not suck it's just the 80 series crossflow muffler they use on the Fbody catback does not flow as well as their standard series mufflers. While it may not be the best it is an improvement over the stock Z28 muffler as far as power @ sound.
