wow, hardly being high and almight, was making a wise crack to lighten the mood

With all the mudslinging in this thread, I can't believe you chose to focus on my comment about a friend of mine...and really, it is quite nice!

Hard to get sarcasm across in here. My bad. You are right about the mudslinging. Truce I guess living around here made me turn back into an a-hole.

I'm doing a work-study session up here from college this semester near Ann Arbor. I'll be up here the majority of the next two years working. Then another year back at school and hopefully back up here workng for a car company. I only wish they had design centers in warm places, I could drive my car all year.

Very true, the whole thread has been arguing over how bad or not bad Detroit is and know it gets as low as trying to get 50 posts.

Sure did, hey that's 41!!

While on the Detroit thing, it's all what you make it. You can live somewhere else, but my job wouldn't be nearly as cool... That and it's a place where the interstate name = speed limit, just need to build a motor worthy of 696!!

Yeah well I on the other had don't have much choice to live here since I'm a college student that lives with my parents.
It sucks but is cheaper than having my own place, and I have a garage to store my baby.

Hey Wannabefast69, I apologize for the direction this thread has taken. It was never my intention to keep an argument going on. When I saw the thread "newbie from Michigan" I thought cool somebody from Michigan was checking in. Im a Ls1 guy and I enjoy talking about fast cars. I just objected to the Detroit bashing that was going on. Your right that had nothing to do with this thread. I enjoy cruising and going to Milan Dragway. Would love to hang out!

I will be at Camarofest. It is July 1-3 in Ann Arbor MI at the community college. Check out www,camarosuperfest.com for all the details.

Look, I wasn't trying to bash D-town. I would much rather be around here for the automotive goodness which is better then anywhere else even with the winter months thrown in. I was just telling the truth and unfortunately the truth sucks. OK, you want to hear something great about this town? No matter what people in "the land of fruits and nuts" will say, we have the largest cruising scene anywhere and I know from experience. There, that's bashing.

the rest of you, don't be turning this into a flame thread. If you don't like it here, then leave, end of story.

I'll have to remember that one. I've been so disappointed w/ the applebees on westnedge and the one here in TR I don't go very much anymore, but if a good looking woman might work at one, I'd go.

hey at least you guys have decent imports and moron ricers to race up there. Down here in TR all you have to mess w/ is wanna be ricers who don't have anything special. All the super fast cars aren't hardly street legal, and the ones that claim they're fast are always full of BS.

Welcome to the site and glad to have another Michigander

Sterling Heights here but I grew up in West Bloomfield (O.C. I guess though O.C. reminds me of O.C.J. - )

I have lived all over Michigan: West Bloomfield, Birmingham, Southfield, Livonia, Redford, Kalamazoo, Gobles, Detroit (2 years of hard living), and Highland Park (5 years of Hell but a time to get on my feet).

For all those saying Detroit has a corrupt mayor or having to dodge bullets or whatever - Well... it is all true.

But, I have to say Highland Park is more like the Wild Wild West.

Anyhow, it is great to have another LS1 fan from Michigan at this site.
