Default My first LS1

Hello from Kent, WA! I bought my first LS1, a 2004 Yellow GTO M6, back in December. I'm still waiting on my custom plates.

I hope to learn from you all as I've never had a vehicle before that was worth modding. My car history....

1976 Toyota Corolla - 80hp 27mpg (fun starter car, easy to work on and learn)
1981 Honda Accord - 110hp 24mpg (a very nice ride for its day, ended when I was rear ended)
1991 Geo Metro - 70hp 48mpg (I loved this little thing...sold it at 170k miles)
1999 Ford Escort - 120hp 32mpg (Wife's car...nice all around family car)
2002 Ford Ranger - 135hp 26mpg (Workhorse...cramped cab)
2004 Pontiac GTO! - 350hp! 17mpg! (My reward for finally reaching the top of my pay scale...amazingly fun to drive! It took me a while to get over the shock at the pump.)

I'm still learning how to handle this much power. Fortunately, I live right by Pacific Raceways.

Its always nice to welcome in a new LS1 owner!

You have no doubt discovered that the price of petro is well worth the thrill of mashing on that pedal. Whenever I fill up my WS6, I just smile and think...this is gonna' fun to burn! She drank up $26 worth yesterday....and I gave her no mercy on the way home!

Enjoy your new ride...its built for speed, so use it!

I was trying to mod my '96 GT Mustang dumped about 3,000 into it. Just messing around one day I went and test drove this 2000 Z28 and the next day I bought it.

LS1's are great and I bet your yellow GTO look's sweet.

Thanks for the warm welcome. The NW regional section is quite active and I got to meet a few of the guys as PIR last Sunday.

The tech section on steroes has also helped me figure out my MP3 options for this car. It looks like I'm going to have to replace the head unit and turn up the gain on my factory amp. Nice tips available in this site.

When I say "PIR" I mean Pacific International Raceways, here in WA, just a couple miles from my home. Is there a track in Portland with the same initials? The Northwest Regional section of the board posted the get-together a couple weeks in advance. Just check in there from time to time and see if anything is being planned.
