And I bet his Z was stock or mostly stock. Wait until you get behind the wheel of a modified LS1!

I'm going to move this to the Racer's Lounge.

Welcome to the best LS1 site on the net.

My first car was an '86 red TA with t-tops and a 305 in it. It was an absolute turd, but I liked it alot. Cool first car. I wrapped it around a tree at 100mph. Lesson well learned. I would've killed myself an LS1 at 16.

LS1 Brent...some words of advice...

Drive fast when appropriate, but be smart about it. Things can get out of control in a hurry.

Brent,
I bought my first car when I was 15.I saved money from my paper route and bought a 1964 Impala SS 409cu. 425hp.I raced a guys brother when i was 15,i had no license.

My first race was against a 67 mustang built 289,beat him easily.

Once it gets in your blood, there's no turning back.I won't drive anything unless it's a V8 or bigger.

I'm 48 now and not slowing down.

Let us know when you get your LS1.

I had a 79 T/A 6.6 liter when i was 17, not a ls1 but was still a pretty cool car for being 17. That was in 1990 so the new f-body's were not all that fast anyway, still cool though.

I got caught with some dope and wrecked my dads car. I did'nt plan on it happening but, it did. So, I have no T/A now and all kids always laugh at me for saying I was getting one. My point is dont say "I'm getting, ect". You can brag when the keys are in your hand, man. Untill then.............

I feel old saying that... I'm 18 now and i bought my Z when i was 17... 480 a month aint an easy payment but it's all good as long as my baby's parked in the driveway.

Oh yeah, PLEASE be careful with it... it can be EXTREMELY powerful and if you are slightly reckless, you will get hurt.

An interesting fact: You are guaranteed 100% that you will have an accident in your first 1000 hours of driving.

I'd wait til I hit 1001 before getting me a beautiful LS1 if i were you.

Oh and don't be ashamed of asking your parents for help. They're your parents and tehy are there to support you just as you will support them when you are older and they no longer work. Keep that in mind.

So why is he guarenteed to have an accident in the
first 1000 hours? I've been driving for almost
14 years and never been in an accident. Never
been pulled over either. If you're safe, you
don't need to worry about your driving. Just
worry bout the other morons on the road.

What's up Brent? I haven't posted on this site in awhile. Don't listen to any negative comments anyone has to say on here. You'll be fine when you buy my car, just don't let it control you. It has power and it's only a high 12's car. Some of these guys cars haul *** big time.

Later,
Jeremy

my first car was a Lingenfelter 383 96 Z28... got it when I was 16. When I was 17 I got a blown 95 TA. Sold it the weekend I turned 18 and 6 months later, got my current ride. I've had it for almost 9 months now and have loved every minute of it. LS1's just blow everything else out of the water in terms of greatness. There are faster cars, there are better handling ,better riding, better fuel economy... cars better at every aspect of driving... but I wouldn't give up my LS1 for any of them.
