Default Another Newbee

Hey. Currently I have a 2003 Lancer Evo VIII. I like the car, it's fairly quick...but I am sick to death of the "import culture". SO... Now I'm in the planning phase of a "best of both worlds" car. I will be picking up a 2nd generation Mazda RX7 body and dropping the powermonger LS1/6speed drivetrain into it. There have been many people who have completed this swap using the "kit" from Hinson Supercars so this isn't uncharted territory. I guess the main reasons to do this project is I love the styling of the 2nd gen RX7...and it's wicked light...down to even 2200lbs if stripped down...somewhere around 2500lb in full trim.

Disclaimer: I will most likely be asking a lot of questions. I DO know how to use the search feature and will be wearing it out looking for info.

I am also on the following boards:
Tennesspeed (Slipstream)
Evolution M (Evillusion)
and RX7 Club (Slipstream)

I forgot to mention, my roommate has a 2000 WS6 TransAm. After he let me drive it I was hooked. Torque is a beautiful thing!

Glad to have another member. I hope you find all the info you need. Use the search, but don't be afraid to ask either.
