Met some Ls1tech Guys at Commerce......
This was my first time driving a car at the dragstrip and I had a real problem with traction ,especially Fri. nite. The video is available at mountain boost under show event/pics, and it seems I must have been really bored because apparently I went to sleep my RT was .549, then I spin tires for nearly a second
. My first run friday night was a horrible: 13.6 sec @ 107.59mph I backed that one up with a 13.45 sec @ 109.03mph. The next day I met Ben and his family. Ben was kind enough to take the time to explain some of the finer points of the tree, (he blew me away with a hole shot: nice one Ben), launching, air press.,etc. Which made a huge difference, even in the heat of Sat. I was able to make my best runs. If I could combine the two I belive I could have made a flat 13 or maybe even a 12.99. One run I was able to get my 60' time down to a 2.08sec and my 1/8 mile time to a 8.56sec but for some reason my skip shift decided to act up, ruining the run ( wound up hung in 4th again ). On the next run I didn't spin, so I wound up not giving enough gas; and there was a slight bog. The 60' time was 2.19sec 1/8-mile time 8.78sec 1/4mile time-13.38sec @ 107.55 mph. Next time I think I'll try Drag Radials................
first time at the track is usually always the worst. nervous, don't really know what's going on, etc... always nice to find someone that is willing to help you out. drag radials will definitely make a huge difference. personally, I'd say go with the Mickey Thompson drag radials.
