Hey LS1 owners Just a hello to all,
I am here to learn about the good 'ol LS1s. I don't own one, but did own an LT1. I currently am running around with a STi. I guess the main reason I'm here is to read about my competition and to chat with some fellow car enthusiast (sp?). As well as to talk with my buddy DannoWS6. Hey kid!

Thanks for all the welcomes guys. I guess the only reason I don't own a f-body anymore is the cost. When I bought my car my insurance would have been sky high. It was MUCH cheaper to pick up a "sports sedan" rather than a sports coupe. There was a price difference between the f-bodies and the STi. I did pay more for the STi, but I CAN drive it all yr. round.

How are the STi's in the snow? Also I am curious to know from an STi owner's perspective, who do you view as the 'competition'? I mean except us, since STi and LS1 are pretty much direct rivals right now. Anyway TTYL and I hope eventually you can get yourself another F-body and have the best of both worlds!

The STi is horrible on the stock tires. They weren't kidding when they said summers only. I had the idea "well it is AWD." THat was the dumbest thing evar! I went about 3ft if that and spun like a 800hp in the box. It was HORRIBLE. I then bought some snow tires and it made a beast out of the STi. I laughed at all those SUVs when I blew past them. Even DannoWS6 was suprised to see me on the highway driving next to him in his Jeep.
As far as competition, I consider almost all mildy modded f-bodies, minor bolt on Cobras, and stock vettes. I know all would be a close run. I don't like to generalize all cars like that, but it's mainly american muscle and a few imports. My guess, and I do say guess, would be anything putting down around 370whp. That is a "guess."
