Hello Im new at this. Just bought an 01 SS convertable. Excuse the dumb question but does it have an LS1 and what makes it an LS1. Im an old school chevy guy

98+ year models camaros/ta's have the LS1 GEN IV GM motor. Its a whole new design from GM on motors.

^welcome to the forum and yes its an ls1. Ls1's were put in f-bodies (camaro T/A) from 98-02. Ls1's are aluminum block and heads. this is all I have time to type right now but I'm sure many people will either flame you or further answer your question.

Didn't they also put it in the Vette for a few years. But yes it is an LS1. The only dumb question is the one that don't get asked IMO. Hey we all have to start somewhere.
