Default New ls1 transam owner

Just saying hi, since as of yesterday I'm now the owner of a 2000 trans am!

Its got a spec 3 clutch, lt headers, y-pipe, and loudmouth catback. (And boy is that loud!)

Also has line lock installed, mti lid, smooth bellow, and k&n filter.

Suggestions for must have mods for the upcoming year? Its a daily driver first and foremost.

Altho to be honest, the LT's and LM with no cats could sound a lot better. Perhaps my first mod. (that and fixing the few broken things)

Congrats on the buy, Im also new to an LS1 car although Im not new to the F body or cars in general. Id suggest dealing with the rear end, that T56 is going to eat up U Joints and snap the 10 bolt if you're not careful. Sounds like a good buy although Id be worried about that line lock, you dont need a line lock with a manual to do a decent burnout so chances are that 10bolt has taken a beating.

Yea, supposedly the previous owner got alot of the mods from a friends speed shop and when it went out of business he got the line lock installed for next to nothing.

But I always presume the worst and the 10 bolt will eventually be replaced with something stronger.

One of my first goals is to drain and check the rearend. Maybe put some nice synthetic in there while I'm out at it. Any recommendations? Royal Purple? Amsoil?

So are any of these cheap/free mods I keep reading about worth it? I have time to fiddle this weekend, going to install the SLP underdrive I got with the car, and maybe change the rear end fluid to royal purple.

Things like remove the egr portion, bypass throttle bottle coolant line, more?

Or is it just a waste of time or causes worse side effects?
