Maybe turn it into an LS1 exhaust section...that way those of us who are tired of seeing "what headers should I go with" or "What is a cut-out?" thread can avoid them in the engine external section.

I know there is LS1 sounds but, thats just more so for listening and should be used as a link in the "LS1 Exhaust" section...

Just an idea

JRP, thanks, that actually means a lot to me that you took the time to put up my photo as an example of a non-attention *****

As far as the leghumping thing goes...look, I'll make it simple. Women with usernames like "blondegirl" "barbiegirl" "omglookatmeihaveavagina" want that kind of attention. Sadly a lot of girls are into cars just because they know the ratio of men to women in this hobby is 2,234,630:1. So when they get 170 views and 78 replies, it makes them happy even if they can't really tell you the difference between a driveshaft and a crankshaft....

They just want a cookie for spending $15k on a trans am instead of that pink VW beetle, which was, like omg so tempting!

Exactly. I clean things up when I've seen someone being bothered who doesn't want the attention, or a few people taking it too far. But most of the time they are wanting the attention they get. We'll never know how many people on here are female who don't call attention to it.

There are two mindsets going on - some gals are interested in cars but have no idea where to start. So they post up they are female in hopes of other females answering since many guys will ignore the actual question and just got the leghump route.

The others are 'hiimcutebutdontownacarbutillsendyoupictures"...bo red, young, whatever there is a problem and need to get a myspace account instead.

Ferreting out the two isn't always easy which is why I've started posting in here more often - if they mention what they drive I'll post a link to the forum they may find will help them. That being said, how come we don't see more females responding to the same intro posts?

No, I never posted anything in here initally. Followed some locals from another major site to the regional section and gradually poked around in all the places this site offers (which is far better IMOO). It also struck me odd there is a dedicated sticky for females, seems it creates a problem, not solves it *unless* its a hard and fast rule no guys can post in it as well which is not the case at present.

The only quasi soulution is for repeat posters who keep asking for pictures and pm's to be restricted from posting in this section, though its a ton of work admin does not need all other considerations aside. Just keep your fingers off the keyboard and one hand clapping...that fap fap fap sound resonates.

****** I totally agree.

Coming on a forum before actually owning the car is a great idea. I was on Corvetteforum.com for a couple months before I got my vette - and that got me familiar with common problems, good mods, etc. However 99% of the women that come here without cars wanting more information rarely ever venture out of this section :dunno:

And its the girls like these that give all the other car enthusiast women a bad rep and instead of the entusiasts being able to discuss tech stuff all the guys just try to instead. Like what the hell do they think they are gonna get out of it anyway?

It was a year before the locals found out "he's a she???" though by that time, I was so befuddled at some inconsistencies with the 93' LT1 it was time to fess up husband was on deploy which left me unable to DYI alone. Still cracks me up changing my avatar just for the sake of this forum alone, most still think 'guy'. If there is a way to get people out of here and into forums where they can do research then the goal has been met.

You have to remember that Danica has brought a lot of attention to racing in general as of late, she didn't exactly do subtle photo shoots but she knew it was a good business move - something the younger females don't understand. Yet.

When you start needing the kind of money she does to stay on the track *then* you post a picture of yourself - the one linked from a magazine or major sponsor and not your bf's cell phone

Gearhead, I had no idea you were a female. & Keliente has defenitly earned my respect for her tech knowlege. A local girl (won't mention her name) came on her with a little of the "Attention appearance", and actually turned out to truly be a gearhead. I also have respect for her. She did have to put up with a lot of And show us pic's crap. I just think it takes away from the site & makes us all look like jerks. A girl should not have to hide her "gender" with a screen name. Guys grow the **** up.
