Default Hello From England!

Hello, thought i would introdcue myself, im Ricky, live in Milton keynes in ENGLAND! im building a gardener douglas 427 cobra kit car ( with a chevy ls1) been building around 4 months now, imported an engine from the States, since then i have been modifing the loom to link up to the rest of the car, got rid of air con , EGR, power steering etc.. getting to the point now where the engine can be started soon!!

my engine didnt come with a IAT sensor, anyidea where i can get one in the UK? or is it a better idea to ship from the USA?

Welcome to the site. You are probably best off finding a list of things you need and ordering them all at once, to save on shipping. Our official GM parts vendor is Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, give them a call www.SDPC2000.com

Bauer Millet are located in Manchester UK.
http://www.bauer-millett.com

I got my rear light cluster from them, I also got many other things formt hem too.

I have used OCW in the past, located in Perivale near london... http://www.acdelco.co.uk/contact.htm
I have had a bad experience with them once, but before that all has been fine. I ordered a clutch from them for my Trans-Am, as I thought my clutch was going, in the end my old clutch held on for 2 years, so when it came to put the new one in we found it was only 9 inches and the one that came out was 11 inches. They wont take it back due to me having it stored for so long, I dont know what it fits, they dont want to resolve the problem. So i ordered a stage II clutch from the states urgently as the car was up on the ramps at a garage and every day cost me money.

You will save money buying from the states until you get to impot tax and shipping, even then you may still save money.

For an IAT I would go Bauer-Millet.

i grew up in Aberdeen before moving to the states... and i've been a glory hunting arsenal fan for a while

i didnt know anyone had these gorgeous cars in the UK, i have yet to see one when i'm back. Something about paying a quid for a litre must turn people off of the 5.7L engines.

Yep, 101.9p per litre, I put in about 45 litres on fill up, that 4.54 litres to a gallon. £45.85 a tank full, then into Us dollars = $84.83 to fill it up. Once a tank of fuel lasted me 50mins. Got home quick mind you. lol.

I like the look of the Trans-Am so I'm okay paying the fuel prices as it is an unusual car over here, you get many people stareing int he street, some giving the thumbs up.

There are a few American cars over here, certainly at car shows. If I drive around for about 100miles you will see 1 or 2. Photos of a local car show last year.... http://www.solent-renegades.co.uk/ph...0of%20Motoring
