Default Newbie.... Here's the plan! :)

01-02 Z or T/A "haven't purchased yet" Has to be an A4.... Don't wanna spill my coffee in the mornings.

Would like to run CONSISTENT 11.50's or faster and still daily drive. Please tell me if you think this combo. will achieve it.

Lid/pulley/misc. free mods.
Hooker LT's/3"O/R-Y "Yet to determine cat-back"
3xxxish stall "not too terribly big"
3:73's/Girdle-Drag radials only! "gonna try to keep the stock rear alive"
228/232 .588/.592 110LSA "like the sound of this cam for what i plan to do"
918's/pushrods "of course"
NX Wet Kit "100 shot"

Will it happen?? Or is that too much to ask??

its not too much to ask, but your rear is not going to hold up to that cam and stall. youll be pushing 400+ at the rear wheels with that setup without the N20. get a 12 bolt in thoes plans.

auto's are a bit more friendly on the rear, but the 4l60e is a weaklink...the numbers are possible but might want to tuff up the drivetrain.

Sounds like a good setup, let me suggest PRC dual coil springs instead of the 918's though....and don't forget chromoly pushrods, new timing chain, ported oil pump, gaskets, and all those other cam swap goodies . And instead of hookers (i have them, they are good but...) i'm going to suggest pacesetters, they are cheaper and just as good. For the price of uncoated hookers you can get coated pacesetters. The misc free mods will do nothing by the way, the only ones i think helped was de-emissions systeming the car. I'd suggest an LS6 intake or a ported FAST if you have the money. Oh ya, and you forgot a tune! hmm and subframe connectors...

I had kinda wondered about the Pacesetters.... No one around here has them that i know of, so didn't have much to judge by. If everyone seems to be happy with them and they're a bit cheaper, then it sounds like a good deal.

As far as the sub-frames and a tune, i just kinda figured that was a common sense type thing.

Let's say....... I drive like a grandma around town on work days, and only go to the track once a month. While i'm at the track, i only make 2-3 passes.

How long will the 4l60E live?

Well since this thread is alrdy made if no one minds i would like to ask a question my self about my car.

I would like to run a consistencey of maybe 12.5 (for now) and would like to ask if my current thought of future mods would take me close to there? here they are:

Full exhuast/Intake lid
Mild Cam (thinking maybe a 00 or less stock Cam if its possible to get decent gain)
Rear suspension work to keep traction.
Free mods (does anyone have a link to them i cant find them)

I run a 13.5 now fully stock. So with this is it possible to knock off a second?

Find what cam you want, find what exhaust, and what work you're doing to the rear and we can better help you. BTW free mods = nothing.

I dont know what brand of exhaust i want... I guess one that is 800 or so bucks? I cant say what exhaust i want when i havent heard them lol. Um rear suspension work.. I guess just stuff like torque arms and ****. I dont know much about the rear suspension as far as what the stuff is called and what not. I would have to go to the store and ask what kind of stuff should i buy to keep more traction on my rear end and they would show me. I will spend about 1200 or so on the rear end suspension. probaly another 600 on the rear tires. The cam is just the stock old LS1 cam? i dont know the specs on it but its just a stock cam. Or i could get a LS6 cam for 100 bucks. So i guess thats as general as i can get cuz i cant really say what type of exhaust it will be.

sorry forgot to add, imo it would be pointless going through all the trouble of a cam swap for such a small gain, if your gonna do a cam do a cheatr style or something youll actually notice.....and as far as that auto tranny lasting theres really no way to tell..hopefully youll get lucky and nothing happen but thats about like the m6 guys asking how long the 10bolt will last! good luck guys!

everything looks good except for stock tranny is going to take a beating as well as the rear if you go with a sticky tire, but with that cam and a 100 shot you should see between 470-500 rwhp (depending on the type of n20 shot and kit), which is more than enough to run a mid 11 second 1/4 mile.
