Default Hello All!! (vid too)

hey whats up guys this is my first post on here, looks like a wonderfull site

well after my last car, which was a 328i got totaled when i was rearended 2 weeks ago. i was on a mission to buy another car this week, well yesterday i finally bought one. its a 1998 trans am, thing is pretty sweet. in near mint condition as the car had an older owner (40's) and spent most its life in Texas and when it was brought up here (RI) it was kept in a garage

here is a small vid i made today, nothing special just a walk around and a little reving

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk3WDVAhero

the car is stock other then the SLP Catback and WS6 rims, btw does anyone know how much hp the SLP exhaust adds??

aftermarket lid increases airflow, you will pick up about 8-10 rwhp with it

Hypertech is worthless!

Get a good set of JET coated long tubes.. and the airlid...
for $1,000.. that is the best bang for buck... IMO

Welcome BTW!!

Welcome. Just how strict/naziish are they with visual inspections up thar in the Ocean State?? That's what will determine if you can get away with the longtubes everyone from Tejas, and elsewhere, are saying you must have.

NICE!!! Welcome to "THE TECH"..... 98's rule Get familier w/ the stickies & you'll see that a lid is a lid is a lid.....they all make between 8-13 whp....might as well port/polish the throttle body too and get an additional 5-10 whp The SLP exhaust adds anywhere from 5-15 whp from what i've read. You are gonna love the torque these monsters make and be careful in the rain......these rides get sideways pretty easily

what about a lsx intake manifold? along with the lid and TB wouldnt that be better then just doing the lid and TB as the intake manifold would actualy be able to use the larger amount of air coming in better then a stock manifold

also ive herd good things about the HP tunners software so i might just go with that, im no newbie when it comes to tuning lol, i used to have a 98 S/C Z24 that was on emanage and i tuned it threw a wideband o2, but i see they have alot of bin files already up and alot of basic tune tutorials. how are you guys experences with this tuning software?

thanks a bunch you guys are awesome

lol... stickies are your friends. all your questions can be answered through there, plus a lot more. honestly, i wouldnt tune it until you get headers. you can do both for under $1000. welcome!!
