Default Greetings From Iraq!

Hey guys, first time posting, but been around lurking for about three years. I'm currently In Baghdad, hints the name, but I've got a 67' Camaro I've owned for about 11yrs that will be getting an LS something transplant when I get home. I figured I would sign up and start soaking up the info here while I wait.

Oh yeah...Whats up to my boys at G-FORCE MOTORSPORTS!!! (pearland Texas) See you guys in about a month!!

Hey, I'm also new to the site, but not to LS1's. And thanks for your service. My son sold his '01 SS when he joined the Army. Just went to graduation at Ft. Benning this weekend. He has Airborne training for the next three weeks, then who knows when he will be deployed. Now I wish I had bought his SS, but at the time I didn't think I needed two F-bodies. Anyway, we had some great times modding it. Stay safe and thanks again. You guys are our heros back home. Good luck with the car when you get back.

Thanks for your sacrifice over there... Keep up the good work. As for your transplant, since you almost certainly have a cast iron motor in there now, you might consider going with the new cast iron block that should be coming out from GM "sometime" in the near future. It supposedly will be basically a bowtie block for the LSX series motor and capable of huge bores (4.200 and maybe more) and huge power. I would like to entertain that idea for my boat sometime in the future.

Thanks for the welcome guys, don't want to misslead, I'm not in the military, i'm working on a government/Army contract. (can't take credit for something only our men/women in uniform deserve). Anyway, things are not TOO bad here. I work in the corner of the base, so we get to here alot of action right on the other side of the wall, in fact there was a HUGE firefight about five hrs ago, lot of stray rounds flying aruond! I'm on camp Slayer in the Victory complex, for some of you that have been here you might know where that is. (about twenty min from the Green Zone) I'm still ready to get the hell out of here, I miss my toys!

Shouts from Balad. I guess this is as safe as it gets in the AOR, despite the mortar attacks. Unless you count Al Udeid.

We took a pounding last night.I first heard a rocket fly over and hit......Then they started throwing 107's at us.....The attack started roughly 1030pm and lasted until 0630 this morning(afghanistan time)....

It messed up when you hear them coming in, and you are running into the bunker and not knowing where they are going to land....Scares the **** outta me.....
