This forum has been a tremendous source of valuable information to us already. We couldn't be more grateful for all the smart, experienced people posting here.

Thanks!

Very cool! I wish my dad had been into stuff like that. He preferred "bar-hopping" as a hobby. Not to good for sharing "quality time" when your under 21. What are you gonna so with it when it's finished? Oh, btw, welcome to the site.

Thanks for the welcome.

"Sunday Driver" is the short answer on what we're going to do with it. There are some nice roads around Ann Arbor, plus Milan Dragway is just a short hop away. Can't take any long trips because there's no real place to put any luggate!

Those kits use a Porsche 911 transaxle, right? What kind of torque are they supposed to be able to withstand? Sorry for the questions, I am just trying to figure out what way to go on my next kit car. If you had any pics of the transaxle, mounting, and installed I would really love to see them!!

Hi, Jest.

Yep, it's designed for the G50 series of 911 transaxles. There are lots of discussions but little hard data on how much torque they can handle. Some people are going with the stronger G50/5x versions to be on the safe side while others are going with the standard ones and figuring they will work okay.

We're still in the donor tear-down phase so I don't yet have any pics of the kit. There are some posted in the FFR GTM forum, which is here: http://www.ffcobra.com/ubb/ultimateb...orum/f/35.html

I don't know a single site that lists all the G50s but this one is reasonably complete: http://www.ultimabuild.com/transmission.htm
