Just a LT1

Well i signed up not long ago, And have now bought my first Fbody since highschool. I was converted from a mustang guy. Just picked up a 93 Z w/ a 6 speed.

I am really liking it, i definatly have some work in front of me but will be a good time. I plan to hit the strip in a couple of weeks when they open while the car is still bone stock. Then let the moding begining.

Dont say just a LT1 like its a bad thing. You own a fbody now, thats a great thing.

Yea I don't think it is a bad thing. Only bad thing is these 2.73 gears. Can't find a use for those last two gears.

Didn' t the 6-speed get 3.42's?? The LS1 cars did, and I thought the LT1 cars did as well.

93's came with 2.73s optional I believe. They only did it in 93. I always used 6th at 55+.I'm glad somebody that finally afford to something to it owns it. Good luck with the modding.

After quite a bit of research 93's had two different options for t56's. both different from the 94 and later variants. It does have a little beter gear spread but is also weaker. The M28 came with 2.73 rear gears and the M29 came with 3.23 i believe.
Year 1993 (M28) 1993 (M29) 1994+ (MN6)

1st: 3.36 2.97 2.66
2nd: 2.07 2.07 1.78
3rd: 1.35 1.43 1.30
4th: 1.00 1.00 1.00
5th: 0.80 0.80 0.74
6th: 0.62 0.62 0.50
