Hey all, yep another new guy poppin' in.

The story goes I got my `99 Z28 3 years ago. I walked up on it when the guy was putting the for sale sign in the window. It only had 25,000 miles on it. I first started building it up with little things like Power Stop Rotors and KYB AGX's and FlowMaster cat-back. Then my trip to Iraq put everything on hold for a year. But now I'm back and it's close to spring and it's time to beef her up a bit and I knew this would be the place to get info and any help that I need.

Right now I have on order a SLP intake kit w/ MAFS, 4.10's, and the Diablo Sport II tuner for the first power installment.

Now I know after reading through here that I jacked things up already. My goal is to build street machine, but still be a DD and being in Germany we get to drive a lot faster that everyone in the states and it's also an A4, so I already plan on sending the 4.10's back when they get here and go with 3.73's. Problem is I listened to a buddy of mine who has a speed shop in Fresno and graduated from Wyoming Tech who didn't take Autobahn driving into account and told me to go with 4.10's. (Cruising at 125MPH @6000 sound about what it would be? -Boom!)

Sorry for dragging on. People say I put too many details into things.

1. ditch the crapmaster
2. ditch the 4.10's and stick with 2.73's if your driving on the Autobahan
3. stick with the stock MAF
4. ditch the SLP intake kit and get a FTRA or SSRA, you of all people would probably see the most gains out of either of these because of your consistant high speed driving.
5. from what i hear, the Diablo Sport is no good. unless you cant find anyone over there to tune your car, then dont get it.

my advice is to get an LS6 intake, some LT's and a good cat back, and have it tuned for that and start there. and i know SLP has all the clout, but they are not all they are cracked up to be. check some other sponsors for better deals on the same ****.

Well...looks like I've already started out on the wrong foot and feel like an idiot.

Thanks for the input.

I do have a buddy over here that's going to give me his LS6 intake, so at least I got that right.

how can you be on the wrong foot? you got an LS1 right? no, everything is cool. but after youve been here for a while youll see that a lot of that stuff is overrated.

I would also recommend upgrading the brakes with better pads like hawk hp plus or similar and some good brake fluid like ate super blue. Then I would upgrade suspension next. I see you have kyb agxs but i would recommend ditching those for koni SAs or bilstiens. Konis are my favorite mod ive added to the car. Have fun with it.

Naw I just meant by the stuff I ordered already. No worries, just the pains of just starting out. I'm sure everyone's been there.

thats wierd seeing the *** end of that. did you buy it over there, or have it imported from USA?

The first owner was German. It's pretty cool cause it's a dual spec. It has dot glass and cats, but has rear fog lights, and the guages are metric, and if the governor is still set I haven't found top speed yet. 145mph is the fastest I've had it so far with plenty of room left in the pedal...just didn't want to push it any further at the time!
