best of luck with that prokect but dont let the bug get you too bad (im dropping the v6 for a 414, getting rid of the auto for a t56 and putting in a 9 inch ALL AT ONCE) the 3.8 are great cars really fun to drive especially wit the 3.42 lots of scoot to be had with them.

WELCOME!!

Are the turbo Buford engines available/affordable?? Do they bolt up to all of the same mounts, bellhousing, etc. as on the V-6 f bodies?

Don't bash what you deem isn't as good as what you have, cuz others could do the same.

Fair enough, and besides, I was just kidding with him.

I know the potential of those 3.8s, aside from performance, they're remarkable because they are reliable and get good mileage.

Its a shame the one I had was in a Buick Lesabre, haha.

not sure about bellhousings etc but the motors are pretty easily attainable. Go to turbobuick.com or T6P.com and make sure you get a "109" block and heads need to have an "8445" casting or aftermarket Champion heads. Parts aren't too bad, as the stock bottom end will take you well into the low 11's and some in the 10's. Here's a breakdown on my motor build:

109 block with fresh stock bottom end, gapless rings
high volume front cover
Comp 206/206 billet roller cam
1.65 T&D roller rockers/lifters/adjustable pushrods
full port/polish/valve job from Indy Cylinder Heads 1.77/1.54 valves
ported stock intake/headers
50# injectors
62mm throttle body/plenum spacer

I traded my stock 92K mile motor for this setup+$1800

3600# car, 28 PSI of boost and alky injection = 11.40's all day long

Thanks for the warm welcome. I wanna make this thing a drag car but Im starting to get pulled away by the auto cross crowd. I need to decide before I start modding the suspension Mainly because since the v6 isn't nearly as powerful as the v8, so I could take advantage of the F Body's rock solid chassi's potential. Actually I can stall the car up now to around 2500 without spinning the TIRE. So Im not as eager to put in an aftermarket like I would a V8. At least till the suspension is done

Im on fullthrottlev6.com forgot my name though. Thank god for cookies

Could someone post a link about alcohol injection, just like in general. I wanna understand the work involved in setting something up and the pros and cons, etc. Thanks again for the welcome! I'll try to keep threads like "How hard is a V8/Manual swap" ... and "what kind of exhaust should I get" to a minimum

Now having said that...... L36 vs LT1 vs LS1 FLAME WAR!!

alcohol injection system info: http://www.smcenterprises.com/faq%27s.htm

also check out Snow Performance....I have the SMC kit on my Buick, its easy as heck to install and use, I picked up a ton of power, because it allowed me to use 6 PSI more boost.
