I think the best way to start is by letting that baby breathe! Start with headers and exhaust. Kooks headers are about the best, but you're gonna spend some jack. Arizona Speed & Marine is having a sale on them now. Don't forget the Y pipe. I have a Borla exhaust and I LOVE it. I delivers a low throaty tone that I get compliments on all the time. Plus it is adjustable, so you can go with a stock like sound or you can **** the neighbors off if you're in the mood. Don't forget the intake. There are several cold air kits with a K&N filter out there. After these are done, go get a tune. For these light mods I would just go with a mail order tune. PCMSforless.com will hook you up. Plus they give you an awesome discount when you become a return customer. You will be pleasantly surpised on the horsepower gains you will get on these "starter" mods.

I understand. I'm a working man myself and I has taken years to get the car where I want it with no end in sight. But for those of us who work our asses off to get what we want, it means more. Right?

reason i asked if you had traction problems is because in order for you to go faster, you have to get the power you have to the ground. first thing i would do if i were you is get a good set of rear tires, such as Nitto 555R's. they are a street drag radial, and will provide enough traction for a close to stock car to launch as hard as you want to. I DD on mine and looks like i'll be getting close to 20k out of them with a few runs at the track. not bad for a drag radial. you can save the 2 tires you have on the rear in your garage for spares.
