Been here a while, but just got my first V8 F-body
On Tuesday, I finally got my first V8. I've been on the site for a little over a year now learning what I can about F-bodies, since they are my favorite cars. And now, I finally have my first V8-powered one. It's a '94 Z28 M6 w/ t-tops. All the info and mods are in my sig. The car sounds extremely loud and actually has a pretty nice tone with the cutout uncapped. It's got more than enough power than I need for now. I know it's not the almighty LS1, but I'm still very proud of it and it's, by far, my favorite car I've owned so far. It's also in extremely good shape for being a 14 year old car. Here's some pictures that the previous owner took of it. I haven't been able to take any of my own yet because the car's filthy from the ride back from Champaign and it's been too cold lately to clean it up.

Thanks. And I've been trying to enjoy it, but we've been getting a lot of rain lately, so I can't really open her up too much. She's definately got some power though. A lot more than I'm used too. I almost doubled my previous cars' numbers with buying this.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I only have a few issues with the car. I think about the only one, is that I don't really like the way it sounds with the cutout capped. I think I have a leak on the passenger side header somewhere and with it having 3.5" full exhaust and no cat, it really doesn't make it sound too great. I think I may try and get a Magnaflow high-flow cat and some Pacesetter long tubes with SLP Loudmouth II catback. It may take me a while to save up for those though.
Definately. Just let me know if you do have any get togethers. I'd imagine it'll also be posted in the Midwest section when there will be some though, right?

One suggestion. I wouldn't drive it to much in the rain and be careful if you wash the engine. As you will read, the dreaded optispark will event.ually go. Start putting some money aside if you can. It usually costs around 750.00 to 1000 to fix if you have the shop do it.

I took a couple more pictures, but they didn't turn out too well. Here's an interior pic though. I finally got a chance to clean the car up yesterday since it was around 45 degrees. I armoralled (sp?) the interior and just did a quick car wash.
I also did a couple videos for exhaust sound (one with cutout capped and the other with it uncapped), but they also turned out crappy due to me using a cell phone for them. They're kind of quiet, so you'll have to turn up the volume on your computer.

Yeah man dont beat on it yet make sure its going to hold up and see how it drives before pushing it. Then you can slowly start pushing it a little but not like high rpm dumps and all the other ****. You definetly have a stout trans those older 6speeds hold up extremely well. How many miles are on it?

It's got 122,600 miles on it right now. The guy I bought it from has put about $5k into maintenance and upkeep in the past few months though. About everything's brand new. It runs flawlessly and it's very strong. Does need some plug wires, an O2 sensor, and exhaust leak fixed though. I've actually only gotten on it a few times. I tried a couple of 2500-3000rpm launches and couldn't catch traction for sh*t. Nothing really too extreme in it.
I also took another exhaust vid before I went into town earlier. I revved it a little higher and the sound turned out a little better than the other vids.
