Not to "threadjack", but where did you pick up an LS1 for 4k?

They are around. We got ours for 6k with only 68k on the clock.

Hell, I just sold my buddy my 98 Z28 with full suspension, a less than 10k mile ls6 crate, meth inj., FMIC, with a GT67 turbo setup for 8k. Buncha other things on it too.
That car could be parted for way, way more than 8k.
