Just wondering did you perform the swap in your car?

Are you dead set on swapping? I mean I know m6's are a lot of fun to drive, but in the end they break more ****.. ie rear ends..

yeah I know, Im not going to be beating on it too awful hard, at least not launching on slicks or anything. I know 10 bolts = weak sauce.

This car is my dd and mods prolly wont go any futher than a Catback and a Lid, Maybe LT's and ORY one day but that really about it.

Also figured with the 4l60E having almost 140k on it, I would be replacing the tranny sooner or later anyways, so might as well put what tranny in there I want if im going to end up spending the money anyways.

Wanted an M6 car when I first started looking, but I ran across this one and I got such a good deal on it I didnt care what tranny was in it.

Plus I just have always prefered a manual. this is the only car i got thats an auto, I got a 99 Cummins and a 95 Mustang too that are both sticks.

Whats up, good luck on the swap. Tons of good info on here. I spent a long time trying to find an F-Body in my price range that was a decent color and a 6-speed.

Check out www.kyfbodies.org . Lots of cool guys on there, they helped me a ton on my exhaust install. They meet up on Dixie Hwy once a month.

Thanks, nice too meet you, yeah theres tons of info on here, You can find A4's for pretty decent prices, but its impossible to find an M6 car around here anywhere 10k and under. Yeah i will have too check out the site. I used to Cruise Dixie all the time on the way back from the Vally.

Well as long as you know what you want then you should be fine... I would just keep an extra stash to the side for a rear end... Hell I wore the 10 bolt out in my A4 V6 at 70-74k miles... Rebuilt it when I did the engine install and yet again she's whining like a banshee behind an A4... Stay away from Richmond gears (noisey)...

Whoever's idea it was to put a rearend from a 4 cyl S10 in an LS1 platform needs too be smacked. 10 bolts are just way too weak even for stock drivetrain, especially in a 6 speed like you said.

My rear end in my car is decent right now, I had to replace the pass. side axle bearing about 10,000 miles ago and I think the other side is half way wore out now, I should have just gone ahead and done both while I was at it. My Rear end has started making weird noises only when turning at low speed. no whine yet, but I know what you mean about the Richmonds. I got a set of 3.42'sn here for the swap, but im kinda scared to use a ring gear spacer to install them in my seres 2 carrier, thinkin about just breaking down and buying some thick 3.73's but dont really wanna spend the money.
