Hello Everyone!
I am a definite newbie to the LS1 world and will be checking out the site regularly for answers to the many questions that I will have in the coming months! I just bought the Trans Am a week ago and I am already ready to add mods to it. Although it is a big jump from my old car...02 Accord 4 Cyl.
I am in the process of putting a Ram Air Hood on it, adding an exhaust, as well as an intake. Any other suggestions to (affordable)mods will be greatly appreciated! ![Devil](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_devil.gif)

If you mean an airlid, then yes, do that with a good filter for sure. If you are talking about doing an LS6 intake upgrade, you may want to save that for a later date. Lots of other things to do first that will give you more gain than just swapping intakes on a mostly stock engine. After you do a cam and/or heads, then an intake would be a nice addition. Someplace else to look is the rear suspension. Lots to be desired there.

Welcome to ls1tech! ![Cheers!!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_cheers.gif)
Start with the small stuff. Build up to the bigger & badder stuff. You'll have more fun with the car that way.
Some of the basics:
Get all the little !Free mods outa the way
Lid & filter
Fast Toys Ram Air kit (FTRA)
ASP crank pulley
Cat-back exhaust (I recommend Hooker. Affordable and sounds great.)
You can't go wrong with suspension upgrades.
Don't trouble yourself with a ported MAF or MAF ends (unless you get tuning of some sort). You'll thank me later
It really all depends on what you want to accomplish with the car. Good luck, have fun, and we're here for ya when ya need us.

Definitely do subframe connectors before you do too much. The chassis on these cars is not very rigid. It's especially important if you plan on racing it.

Connectors and a strut tower brace. Helps keep the dashboard from developing all those nasty rattles over time. I welded n my connectors at about 2,500 miles on a new car and the strut tower brace had been on for a week or two by then. Welcome aboard!

XLR8NSS- If only I could! My car would be out of control! I am just going to take it slow, get used to the power slowly and then add mods on one at a time. Before I know it I will be seeing you all at the track!

It was great seeing everyone at the cruise and hope to get to know everyone better! Thanks everyone for the suggestions...oddly enough my first addition, besides the ones mentioned before that are in progress, is a Pro 5.0 shifter. After driving Tony's car it was a must!
