Shut my yap? Did you read through the ENTIRE thread or just see my one post and decide to *scold* me for it and threaten the thread? That was the FIRST time in the post that I had any kind of negativity. Hell that was the first time in my almost 900 posts since being a member that I've had anything negative to say to anyone and I had perfectly good reason to say what I said.

Moderator or not, c'mon man. Look at the thread in its entirety. She wanted to join, so we made her an account, put a picture up for reasons previously stated in my posts. COMPLETELY harmless introduction to the site. Martin decides that he just has to be a part of the thread. However, he does not offer a "hi, nice to see you on the site, good luck here, glad to have you", etcetera.... Rather he decides to question something as insignificant as why she put a picture up. Really? Why?

We let the situation go, she responds in a very appropriate way and he continues. I, being the boyfriend, am a little pissed by the ignorance displayed by a fellow member but let it go figuring maybe by some chance the MODERATORS will step in and say at least something. Well that never happened.... So rather than letting it continue I decided to take it upon myself to at least address the issue in some form. I feel that my post directed at Martin was in no way worthy of your response towards me. I see much worse things being said on a daily basis throughout this board that never gets made mention of by a moderator.

If you feel the need to close the thread so be it. The introduction has been made. If you feel the need to punish my account in some way, do what you gotta do. But do me a favor and just look at the entire situation next time. All we wanted was to introduce someone. Funny how something as small as posting a picture can be a problem in some peoples eyes...I'm sorry, ONE persons eyes. In my eyes you, being the moderator, should have caught this from the beginning. From his number 1 post. That's what I was waiting for, it just never happened....

 

Yeah, it's just sad that it had to considering all we wanted was a simple "Hi, this is who I am, I'm really getting into cars and want to learn"

I've been relaxed the entire time, I've enjoyed talking with people on this thread. As for the moderators, I love them, they've helped me in many situations. To be honest man, you've just rubbed me the wrong way. Simple as that. You jumped in at the completely wrong time and in my eyes that is not going to change. I am not a fan of drama and that's all this thread is causing, so I asked you a favor. Her introduction has been made. This threads purpose is done. Close it.

lol, it's funny because I'm not even worked up over it. I'm not mad or angry in the slightest. I know I have a hottie girlfriend, that's not the issue. The issue is with how the situation was handled.

 

How was it handled? You were told to cool it but you started wasting even more bandwidth. If a supermod comes in and makes a suggestion to you, it is for a reason. Next time take your bullshit to private messages.

 

Okay, so here's the deal. I joined this site because I have seen my boyfriend over the past couple of years get a lot of helpful information from here. Now that I am involved with the modifications to the car I felt it necessary to gain all the information that I possibly can from a site and forum that I felt comfortable with. I sincerely apologize that this one introductory post got as out of hand as it did. Regardless of the picture posted I had every right as a member of this forum, female or not, to post an introduction and solicit all the help I can possibly get. Trust me, this was not intended to start drama, but to attempt to gain information and share information as the site mandates. I might be a girl but I'm just as interested in cars as anyone on here and I don't deserve the negativity that this one harmless post has brought about. I would just like to end this once and for all and say that I'm glad to be here, I'm open to ideas and information pertaining to anything car related. Hopefully, this can just be put to rest and I can enjoy my time on this site.
