What is this "WS6" vert worth?

Hey everyone, just wanting some input on this car I'm looking at.
It is a 2002 Trans Am vert M6 triple black with 58k miles. The dealer claims its a WS6, but i cheked the rpo codes and it said ws9. It does have the ram air hood, and a ws6 badge on the back, and looks like someone swapped the 01-02 style ws6 wheels with the 98-00 style. The paint is good except for the bumper which has a lot of rock chips and will need to be repainted, car drives awsome and felt pretty strong for being bone stock. The dealer is wanting 16900 for this car. I was thinking of offering 13-14k for it since its a fake. The dealer obviously got screwed when he bought the car cause he claimed that all trans am verts with a 6 speed were all ws6's

. Anyways sorry for the novel what are your thoughts?

If it does not have the WS6 on the drivers door it is NOT a WS6.

its worth a million bucks......but sereiousely good luck argueing with the dealer on it not being a WS6

Who cares if it's a real WS6 or not. With modern muscle it's not like SS and WS6 mean anything other than a cooler looking, yet nonfunctional ram-air hood and bigger wheels, which this car seems to have anyway. If you feel the car is worth the money and it isn't hammered to s**t then buy it. You don't start worrying about "authentic" factory muscle until you start looking at 60's COPO cars...

I wouldn't worry about it being a "real" WS6. Just try to talk the dealer down to reasonable price.

the WS6 RPO code is right next to WS9. Who cares about it? the buyer should. For one, consider the cars book value, a real WS6 carries a rarity value plus $$++ on the books. As a guy said previously good luck telling the dealer its not real they will deny it all day long most likely. Id say if the car is clean checks out no oil leaks and such the whole nine yards.. Go in talk to your sales man have him intoduce you to his ASM-Assistant Sales Manager, tell him heres the deal after some research I found this isnt a WS6 so I will need to pay less here. Ask for the car $1000.00 dollars less than what you want to pay. After 1-3 stabs at trying to bump you up tell them I will only take it at $xxxxx.xx dollars and if it isnt I am going to leave.

Other wise if you want to buy a trans am that is a fake WS6 and get lied to about the car check out craigs list.

It really doesn't matter if its a ws6 or not except for the fact the dealer is lying about what it is and is asking ws6 value for the car. I will get build sheet from the gm dealer if i have to just to prove him wrong.
