New Guy from oklahoma Sup guys, i dont own an ls1 yet but im in the market for one... was wondering a few things...
what is the best year of an ls1??? (if any)
any problems i should know of? (bad rearend, weak tranny etc)
is it bad to buy a higher mileage ls1???
oh yea one last thing. I use to be a honda guy and I have converted over... lol

hey man, welcome to ls1tech, pretty much just like any other car just some common sense on stuff to look out for, i could list **** on and on, but a knowledgable friend or parent would be usefull tool,
as far as higher mileage and so on, it all depends on how it was treated, i bought my first ss with 108k, drove the **** out of it to 155k miles, weekly trips to the local strip, original engine and automatic trans, never had one problem. but then there is others who dont make it past 50k, i think it has a lot to do with the owner of the car.
anyhow good luck and post any future prospects, id be happy to go over them with you and give you any pointers
btw the rear ends are not that bad. just make sure they dont make noises and that both wheels spin when you burn out

Hey thanks a lot man, i will be sure to check the rear end. I was wondering if anyone could also tell me if there is a big difference in motors between a 98 ls1 and a 2000+ besides the intake manifold? like are the newer motors just straight up faster/better than the older ones or is it basically the same?
