Thumbs up Needed motor for wings

Hi there motor heads. New to your site an just wanted to say hello, and give youall an idea as to what I'm looking for. I'm currently building a 3/4 scale P-51 Mustang and at the stage of building a power plant for this bird. Well in case you don't know they have been putting auto engines in experimental airplanes for 30 or more years now. Well what I'm looking for is a Cheve BB 454 produceing 450 HP with 9.5:1 compression, that can maintain 4200 or so RPM when in cruise. This motor will be set up for fuel injection, and run a dry sump oiling system which must also oil the PSRU, (reduction unit) and the propeller pitch. So bare in mind that I do not have deep pockets Just point me in the right direction as to building up a motor assembly. I've been building this airplane for almost 20 years now. OH If anybody is interested I have a 460 Ford engine here if anyone wants it. It needs to be worked. Well, hope to be hearing from you guys.
Thumbs up

Yours in Flight,

... i'd recommend a different engine for your purpose. but that's just me.
with shallow pockets, it's hard to build that engine type in a really lightweight design.
butt... if there's a place where someone can point you at how to do it... it's here.
Good luck man. when you get it flying, bring it by Embry-Riddle's airport in Arizona... I would love to see a model mustang with a BB in it!

Thumbs up Motors for wing

Thats for the feed back but you need to know that this airplane is a tail dragger an for it weight and balance it needs about 700 LBS in the nose. What I need is reliable horse power without straining the motor. Take off is max power but cruise is at about 75% power which should make this plane cruise at about 275/285 knots. and top out at about 315/325 knots.
