i agree.... blowing **** up is part of the game.... if i was to go back
and count all the money i have in my cars over the years it would probably make
me sick... i didnt have my 07 stang for 2 weeks before i sunk 2000 in it... i have only had the camaro a week now and i just made a guy an offer on a twin turbo setup for it........ hang in there chic.... worse case scenario....
u have a turbo 400 and converter built for it.... then u will not have to worry about trannies for a long time... keep ur head up....

Can't run a t400. Not without some modifications because my car has to have the "e" in the 4L60e. That's why I couldn't run the 4L60 or the 700R4 that I bought prior to this trany that now crapped out on me. And no- I hardly ever power shift. Trany is just a POS built by a scam artist who took the money, warrentied the trany, then ran and is no where to be found when **** breaks

just run a 400, even a 350 if your not going to be making killer hp. cheaper and alot more reliable to build than the 60e.

ok but if my car is built for the 4L60e's how could I run a t400 and have it work with my engine? I was always told my car could only run 4L60e's. Can someone clarify this for me? the reason I had the "built" trany was because I have big plans for the car eventually wanting to build a 383 stroker etc....

search the auto tranny section. ALOT of people switch over to the 400 (i will be too)

termin8r was a manual car then was switched to a th400.....

you make parts fit.

like mustang people running GM powerglides

or supra people running th400's

you make it fit.

so your car only having the "e" tranny argument isnt valid anymore.

Does not take much work to convert over, check out the auto section like said above.

The parts just bolt up. Yours being an LT1 i.e-basically a small block chevy, all the trans bolts will line up and you should be able to use a converter made for a small block chevy as well. Us LS1 guys have to go one trans bolt short and either use a converter made for an LS1 or use a spacer with a standard converter.

PCM wise all that needs to be done is have the computer flashed with a 6 speed tune so the car quits trying to shift the trans, and just use a TH400 with a manual valve body so you're shifting it yourself.

All the info you need is on the board, start looking around.

K another question for ya about tranies. Can I run an Ls1 4l60e in my lt1? Cause the bellhousings are different and I don't know if I'll have clearence issues or if the spline in the tail shaft is different.

time to hit up the tranny sections and start searching. also asking in the lt1 section will get you farther than in the welcoming section.
