Default Yank, Where is my Refund?

It is official -- I can get a tax return quicker than I can get my refund from Yank.

Well I ordered a 4l60e crossmember with DS loop option right before xmas which should have came to a total of $399 -- Yank forgot to ship it and overnighted it to me on his last day of open business before he went on vacation for new year -- Great way to correct a potential problem there, Thanks Yank

Once I get the crossmember I realize that he overcharged me $100 on my credit card. So I have to wait to beginning of this year to call him. I wait.

Near year rolls around and I had the chance to get the crossmember installed and discovered the DS Loop didn't fit -- So I called Yank to talk to him about over-charge and that problem, Yank realized the error and told me they would send me out some spacers to correct my DS Loop problem and in that box he'd toss in the receipt from the credit card machine indicating my refund. Package came a few days later UPS Ground -- no receipt.

I wait a couple of days (week) to see if my credit card gets credited -- no credit. I call yank back again, he explains he's having problems with his credit card company and that he would make sure it gets credited.

1 week later and no credit, wait a few more days and call back -- Yank seems suprised that I haven't seen the credit yet and thinks something is wrong he quickly finds my credit card number repeats me the information over the phone to make sure it's all right and said it would be taken care of immeadiately.

2 weeks later no credit. -- I call yank back and now I'm told he DOESN'T ACCEPT Credit cards anymore. Which in his business I can understand why, Yank asks for my address to send me out a check for the refund. I give him the information and now...

...going on 3 weeks later -- I have called TWICE and gotten his answering machine and left messages to NOT be called back. Previously I would waste several hours out of my day off calling back until I got him on the phone.

I'm starting to get pretty frustrated with this whole situation. I told myself I wasn't going to bring it here but I have recieved no refund or repsonse from Yank on this subject and I am frankly tired of waiting and wasting my time off trying to get this corrected.

Mike knows who I am, the guy in Fort Worth TX as I call myself when I talk to him on the phone. If someone here knows him or can communicate with him directly can you please make mention of this on my behalf?

Thanks.
-Glenn

so hows that crossmember work? I didn't buy yank because they and tbyrne didn't ever bother to call me back even though i wanted it.

I guess both companies just suxor at customer service since they can't even sell a part to a customer ..

guess the markup isn't enough to warrant following up to voicemails and closing the sale?

I agree. But yet people still stand in line to give Yank their money for a product that costs more than the competition and is not much if any better. What a deal.

Is anyone able to talk to Mike at Yank and help this guy out? I told him his next step was to call his CC company and dispute the charges! That would get there attention.

Just got a check in the mail today from Yank for $99 -- The check is dated 2/28/04 and it is postmarked 3/10/04

Thanks for settling things Yank -- I wish it could have been done sooner.

I agree. I am glad you all got the problem resolved.
To bad you had to go to this extreme spending additional time and money to correct a mistake made by Yank that should have been corrected on this first phone call.

Just another fine example of Yank customer service.

Well here is a better example. As of 3-22-04 -- Yank's Check BOUNCED!

He now owes me $105 due to my Bank's returned check fee

I dunno but it's pretty frustrating. I am now dealing directly with my CC company regarding the problem but I will wait to submit the letter they want to actually start the process until I hear something back here.
