Thunder Racing**BELIEVE IT**
So a number of phone calls to the folks at Thunder Racing and I decided to take a trip from Dallas/Ft.Worth and right to them in Baton Rouge,LA.
From the minute I drove up I was impressed. Every facet of the business is perfect. The shop is professional, spotlessly clean, and organized. The staff appears to love their jobs (Geez, I wanna work there for burgers...lol) and they have excellent customer service.
I was met by Chris (Big Chris) who immediately made me feel welcome. Next, got to talk to the Big Kahuna's...Angie (Chief organizer/Pro business woman w/ the heart of a racer who's eyes sparkle at the mention of high compression and lift on a cam) + Geoff (Angie's partner in crime/owner/tuning Guru/50 thousand ideas going all at the same time) **Shane, Jason, Stu..Tech's (all around bad-*** know thier business car guys)**Big Paul...salesman extrodinare and all around nicest guy you can meet.
Angie and Geoff offered up installation of our new cam, etc, even though they were swamped with other projects. The guys got right on with the job and had parts-a-flyin in no time. **Jeremy and Da' Shippin dudes were goin to town sending and receiving orders and all the while...the staff was having a good time.
Late Wednesday afternoon there was a snag. My wiring harness was causing the left bank of cylinders to not fire. Shane, Jason, Angie, Geoff and Paul kept right on working far past closing time to get the issue sorted out. Unfortunately my car would not give up her secret of what was the problem.
I was offered several homes to stay at but decided that I would go to a hotel (I had my dog w/ me) instead. Geoff, tired as you can possibly imagine, then drove me around until we could get a hotel that would take a police dog. In the morning I was picked up and chauffered back to the shop by Paul. Jason and Shane were able to locate the gremlin in the harness on Thursday afternoon and made repairs.
I was treated like a part of the family!! Taken out for lunches, dinners, chauffered around like somebody important (I'm not) but really liked it
Even with the car fixed, we were waiting on a small part that the guys figured that I should have before I left. I decided to stay over Thurs. night...Heck, I didn't want to leave!!
Ok, enough rambling. I can't say enough about the Thunder Racing operation. To call it a business seems unfair of a term. These people breath performance and are truly some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I will be a TR customer and friend forever.
THANK YOU
Yea, thunder racing is more of a family than a business. They treat everyone that walks in with much respect and love having people there. Hope to see ya back there one day.
