Whats up Sled???? If you remember our Purple Firebird. We had a 3.50 gear in it and went a full year tearing headers and oilpans up from wheelstands. We changed gear and put a 3.89 in it and our 60 foot got better and the car was controlable. The theory is that when you launch the car the body tries to rotate around the rear housing. The more gear the easier to get the car to haze the tires. You run less gear the car can dead hook and this is one of the causes of wheelstands.

Same old Madman! How about you bro?

Ok, I was figuring that would be the only reason but wasn't 100% sure. Can't we run more tire pressure or something to use the 3:40 gear? The motor is a low revver... About 7000rpms...

Thats what I would do. The car should handle better down track with more air pressure also.
