Default Welcome to Extreme Chassis 8.8 Hell

If theres anyone out there remotely considering buying a 8.8 rear end from extreme chassis and Craig, be very careful. Here is the exact email log of the conversations between me and Craig (the owner and builder). The last email from him was a week and a half ago and I gave him fair warning that if he didn't respond that I was going to get serious. I ordered the 8.8 over 3 months ago now and paid for it in full over two months ago when craig said it was ready to ship. Unfortunatly when Craig said that it was ready to ship i went and sold by 10 bolt so my beautiful heads/cam 00 SS has been on jackstands since then. Since he hasn't replied to any form of contact in over 2 weeks Im now under the assumption that he has ripped me off. And several of his 8.8 rears that he actually did send out have broken. There was a post out a few weeks ago that was a "waiting list" of people complaining about how long they had been waiting for their 8.8, but that was taken down. Well im tops now, at 13 WEEKS. Here is the story. Scoll down to the bottom to read it cronologically.

Hi Craig. Did you get a chance to send out he rear today. Hope so, thanks about the shipping. I do have a lot of guys waiting on my opinion of the rear who keep asking if I have it in yet. So if I like it i'll still give you some good referrals.

Craig: man thats cool i am REALLY sorry bout this its kinda out of my control but as a business owner i am willing to make you happy i understand that i have put you through a tough time and i am really sorry i will eat the sh ipping cost i have alot ta customers that are upset but theres not alot i can do about it a know i will have your rear ready to ship by monday ok i didnt > know it but i ordered 12 sets of gears and when i was out of town the 3.73's came in and none of the 4.10's did so when i g ot back my builder said he i dont any gears for this rear so i had to reorder the gears and they were trying to **** me so i was like i already paid you and have customers waitin on these rears and they were pretty much like oh well so i will not order anything else thru them but i got the gears in today and it will be put together this weekend and shipped out on monday ok and again i am really sorry man you will love there rar when you get it ok! i will let you know on monda y when it is shiped

Ok, thanks for getting back to me. Hope your bro has a full recovery. Could il me back letting me
know when you will ship the rear out. Also, I've had to deal with a lot of extra costs since the camaro is my daily driver and it has been on jackstands
for over a month since I sold my 10 bolt thinking I would have the 8.8 in the car wit hin the week. I think refunding the shipping costs would be fair, what do you think.

Above is the first email that I had saved but there were several before that since this was 7 weeks after i ordered the rear. Unfortunatly I paid craig already so Im pretty much screwed. Here's a fun game, see how many times craig promises that the rear is finished and ready to send out.

I just got an E-mail from him today that he will have a tracking number for me tonight. 13-14 weeks here. I paid for the shipping and all in advance. Daily driver, 10 bolt is broken,...car is sitting. I start it every now and then and dream I hope I get the tracking number.

I was also going to put the order in for the 8.8 in a month or less but I guess I will not now because that is rediculous. I guess I will go with the 12 bolt. Sorry Craig but that's just too many excuses for me.

It's been 9 weeks for me now and I'm starting to get pissed! I'm a very patient but all these excuses I've been getting also are getting old. Certain things I can understand but now the "moving shops" and "my little bro was in an accident" are getting suspicious and I'm getting worried about not getting what I paid for. There's NO reason people should have to wait this long PERIOD! If he had questions about getting the rears out in a reasonable time then he should not be accepting orders and payment. I just want my damn rear and no more excuses!!

I know Craig personally, and he is not a thief. He just bit off a LOT more than he can chew, and had a lot of obstacles along the way. It's just bad timing. I'm sure he will get everyone's rears out to them ASAP. BTW, the new 8.8 design is bulletproof. I've seen it in person, and it is easily 10 times stronger than the old design. I'm sure there will be no problems with breakage from now on.

Im really starting to worry now. I have been told 3 weeks when i paid in full and now its 5 weeks. I know its nothing compared to the other guys, but I'm renting a car now for 5 weeks because my damn POS stock 10 bolt broke. I hope craig get on this board and explain whats going on. Craig if u can't get my rear end soon, please just send me the money back so i can go get me a 12 bolt or 9 inch ford and get going with my life.

PS. Hey NBM99ta.... can u tell craig to come and answer this thread.... We would like to know whats going on.

By the way, you guys should definitely talk to your credit card companies. Try to dispute the charges and cancel it. Get your money back and buy something else. Or maybe get your money back, and if he ever sends you a rear, THEN pay him.

I'm definantly doing that, and as far as a lawer is concerned, I have a friend whos is a lawer. I will have him give him a call. That should stir things up. I'm seriously considering sueing him.
