Nothing but good dealings for me. There are quite a few people such as myself who have had a great experience with Cartek. Their engine packages and dyno tuning is up their with the best. Your best bet is to ask around on the Corvette Forum. They have many more customers there rather than here.

Good Luck!

Thumbs up

Cartek for sure, quality workmanship and more importantly they have a slew of fast cars running their packages, consistent and proven set ups.

personally had a couple bad experiences with them, got 420 to the wheels from their head cam package, never an engine problem, but had torque arm fall off twice cause all the screws werent put in and needed it towed. also a friend with a head camed vette had timing chain and torque tube problems all the time eventually needed to sell vette less than 10,000 miles with package, want to get more work done on my new firebird looking into what other good shops around. any thoughts on TT performance???

If it's a stock TA they can loosen up when you add power. My stock TA would chuck the bolts if I didn't goober them up real good with locktite after H/C.Torque tubes become disposable items when you start making power in a C5.

I've never done business with Cartek, just pointing out a couple things.

guess i should locktite mine then. i forgot to mention cartek had just installed a 12 bolt for me which means they just reinstalled the tq arm, and a month later when i had trans problems i mistakenly brought the car back to them to fix, when i got the car back i immediatly checked the tq arm screws and only one of them was in. such a careless and dangerous mistake

I know that it is a little late, but i hope you read this before you decide. I Have delt with both. Cartek to put my cam in and Rapid to fix what they did. Cartek put the wrong cam (bigger then i wanted), wrong springs (i wanted doubles), never got the tune right (ran leans as a mother, never idled, was slow as hell, only ran a 12.7 with DR's and no interior). Went to Mikey at Rapid where he checked out the entire car, found the wrong springs and changed them, put in a spec III and then retuned the car and made 21 more RWHP then the original cartek tune. And on top of that, the car ran 12.3 on street tires with a 3.42's and full weight. Trust me go see Mikey, you wont be dissapointed.

Honestly, one should never compare shop cars to customer cars unless you are having a copy made. Im sure every nut and bolt is tight, the parts they want to go in there are in there, and im sure julio spent ALOT of hours tuning THEIR cars and customers cars that cost some big $$$. Im sure they dont have $1600 mild steel headers and a used ory in their cars either. I guess i didnt spend enough to get "cartek quality" work.

A good reputable shop is one that puts as much care into their customers cars as their own. There are alot of shops on this board that do and alot that don't.

Typical BS from other shop diagnostics specially when they are hurting for business. They feel they must tell the customer that EVERYTHING was Fu..ed up.

Don't know and don't care.

This is not the first time I hear this coming from this shop.
