Angry waiting on heads from TSP

I hear such great things about TSP, but I order a heads and cam package from them June 17th. I still am waiting on the heads. I am not very happy about the whole deal. Anyone else waiting on heads for around 2 months???(PRC)

Have you tried giving them a call lately?

The guys over there always seem to get everything sorted out correctly, if something happens to be wrong.

I know what you are saying. It is a long wait, but you have to understand that sometimes things like cylinder heads may have an extensive wait on them. Most places take from 3-8 weeks to get the order completely taken care of. You're just about 7 weeks now, which is high, but it is also the high average. Any longer than 2 months and I can't take the company's side at all.

Sometimes companies are at the mercy of other sponsors, and all they can do is wait for your parts as you are doing. I recently had this happen to me. I ordered a set of Headers through a reputable board sponsor. They were only a distributor - not the manufacturer. They understood that I was growing impatient, but there was really nothing they could do, and I knew that and let them know it wasn't their fault. The ball was in the manufacturer's court. The middle man sometimes takes control and, unfortunately, you just have to wait.

Brandon - I am sorry for the extensive wait. I totally agree that nearly two months is getting ridiculous. This is why we have hired a SAM graduate full time to perform all finish work, flow testing, assembly, etc. in-house. This is going to speed up getting cylinder heads to customers immensely! You can read my post about it HERE. Unfortunately, sometimes a new business will experience some growing pains, and it's apparent that PRC certainly has. However, we've stepped up to accomodate the demand and to add stringent checks and balances. You are at the top of the list for the back-orders. With Freddy in-house now, he is completing all of the hand-finishing and then moving onto the assembly. Your cylinder heads are scheduled to ship out next Monday afternoon.

Again, I apologize for the delay, and we all really appreciate yours, as well as everyone's, patience. Your cylinder heads will leave next week, and I think you will find that they were worth the wait.

Feel free to give me a call or e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hey Trevor or Jason, or whoever, any news on my Stage 3's? I'm not being impatient, no hurry, just wondering, I'm dying to hear the flow #'s on them. I ordered June 6th, but I know they take a while to finish correctly.

Thanks for the great service!!

I have been trying to refrain from posting anywhere on here about TSP or anything to do with PRC. I don't want to stir up anymore crap storms like in some other posts. Especially not about a very good sponsor like TSP. That being said, I too am waiting on a set of PRC 2.5s that I ordered June 19th. The guys at TSP have been great for the most part but I have been told 4 (yes 4) times that my heads were going to ship on or about a specific day and they have yet to ship. I have had to cancel engine installation plans 3 times now at my brother's shop and now I don't even think he wants to help me install it anymore! He is very busy with other customers and when he works me into the schedule and then I cancel it basically leaves him with nothing to do and costs him money. Anyway, I was told once again this week for the 4th time that they would ship "no later then wednsday" and that has not happened.
I know you guys at TSP are trying to get the QC under control and I understand that. I just wish that if you didn't know when they were going to ship I would be told that instead of promising ship dates you can't come close to backing up. On the bright side all the extra QC will hopefully insure I get a great set of heads which I am sure they will be. Just a shame the summer will be over before I get them installed.

I fell you & your brothers pain Most install shops have a lot of people waiting for their car to be repaired....we pass along the best info we can BASED on when our venders inform us that the parts will be there. It doesn't help us when the venders have problems with THEIR suppliers cause WE have to catch all the bitching & moaning from OUR customers.... Luckily my shop has our venders by the short hairs We spend so much money each month that if they don't deliver when they specify it costs them financially more than it costs us Needless to say they provide great VENDER service

Yeah I understand vender issues but these aren't vender problems since the PRC a.k.a. TSP heads we are talking about are done by TSP in house. I think Jason & Trevor just grossly underestimated the demand for good quality, reasonably priced heads when they put them on special. They got overwhelmed with orders and that in conjunction with the crap going around about their quality etc has really slowed the production process up with more QC checks. Not really a bad thing I might add. I just wish someone down there would be straight me and give me a realistic ship date that they can come close to delivering on. That is my only gripe. I am not worried about whether I will get them or of the quality of them as I, as well as many others, have nothing but high regard for TSP and all of their products. It just sucks no one really knows when they are going to ship out.

TSP has just recently moved operations in house to fully control the production process. It will take a little while to get the back orders filled but trust me when I say they are doing their best to fill those orders first before moving on to other things. I've talked to a couple of different people over @ TSP about this over the past few weeks both about the situation and the heads themselves and feel confident they are doing their best to offer the best service to customers they can. Freddy is a great addition to the TSP staff and should help alleviate some of the backup.

i've been on both sides of the fence.i've always had good luck with TSP in the past.but i think their a victim of their own success.my company is going thru the same thing,we're slammed with orders and are scrambling to keep up,plus trying to hire new employees.now imagine trying to fill orders from all over the country, even the world i would think since they are an online business.but like you said,an honest answer would be nice.

Has anyone heard anything on their heads yet? I for one have not. It has been almost 2 weeks since the last "they will ship on" date and I am very close to calling and canceling my order. I am trying to be understanding of TSP/PRC's problems but I would rather pay more and get some damn heads that will allow me to have the engine installed before it snows!

Guys if you need a update feel free to call us up! Our new SAM graduate is going through each set & doing extra porting & tweaking to every set of heads before they ship We're currently spending 8 hours in the cnc machine & another 8 hours per set in finishing, tweaking, and flowing!! We're currently running through the weekends trying to get caught up on all the backorders. I know it's taking a long time to get caught up, but with the time going into these heads they are the best flowing stock bore stuff I've ever seen

I just want to post a positive update here regarding Jason and the PRC 2.5 heads I had ordered. Jason called me this past monday afternoon and said they were almost ready to ship and would go out the next day. He also said that he would make sure I had them by friday. I waited and didn't get a tracking number from them so I started to get skeptical but sure enough I got them today just like Jason said I would.

I don't know when they shipped but it looked like he even 3 day select shipped them so I would have them when he said I would. I have pulled them out and they look great! Hopefully they will put down great numbers and I will be sure to post the results when I get it together. It has been a rough couple of months waiting on them but they really seem to want to take care of everyone. Good luck to the guys at TSP and hopefully they will get caught up soon.
