cool thats good news for sure, I seriously wonder if the headers you got were done by somebody that just started? Do they have machines that do the welding or is it actual people?

I've spent some time on the Islands myself, and your right; you burn one bridge, you burn em all.
That would be one hell of a bridge

I understand that they set these in a jig and well them by hand. Possibly why they cost so much. If I had it to do again I would have bought some cheaper LT & had them coated. I only picked up 12hp over MAC mids, I was expecting a larger gain in hp. I walked bowlegged for a few days after purchased the Kooks

I had this nasty exhaust leak, sounded like a ******* old cosworth airplane engine, was running rich as all hell on Bank 1 and I couldnt get the flange to seal for the life of me. Go figure. The Y Pipe, as posted earlier, I have never seen one that hung lower on the pass side, never heard of one either. George is going to hang the Y Pipe on the jig to see whats up and correct whats needing correction. Definately seals the deal with a missing velocity spike though, something George said he's never heard of, and I must agree. Hell, everyone at the shop was in pure amazement and some of those guys are older than me!

Hopefully I can get them boxed up tonight after work, and then call fedex to pick them up. Too bad I paid for 2nd Air to get this stuff here originally, and it didnt get here in 2 days, 3 or 6days! So, in the end, an $1100 set of headers will end up costing me out the ***. Maybe I can showcase them huh, LS1Tech.com's most expensive headers! Sounds like a new "record" title to me
Enjoy.

Charlie

*EDITED* Got ahold of George this morning and he agreed to authroize a call tag for the sponsor I purchased from which is great news. Before anyone asks, I was told previously to go straight to Kooks if there were any issues, just like the last set that came in (one was a race header and one an emissions...finally got that resolved also). So, UPS or Fedex should be here Friday to pick up the header and Y pipe so George can repair/replace the header and replace the Y pipe. If all goes well, I will be rolling happy again *crossing fingers*. I appreciate the support and sanity check, sometime it is hard to remain clear headed, at least when the $$$ shipping amount comes in against you. Mahalo!
So YOU are the same person I wa reading about a couple weeks ago with different headers? Wow, you have really been through it! Glad you are finally getting a break.

Well, I bough 2 sets of Kooks Race 1 7/8 w/ offroad y-pipe.

The first set I ordered were from Speed Engineering and came with one Race and one with the air fitting. ( Sean@Speed Eng. made it right with the header and the shipping ) The hold up with the replacement was from Kooks, they made Sean buy a replacemet for me.

The second set I got from Scoggin-Dickey which ending up going on Charlie/CAT3's car with pictures from the this post.
He's getting ready to send to Kooks **EDITED**

So 2 different places and 2 different problems dealing with Kooks headers WTF

That way sucks. I would not have thought one of the velocity spikes could blow out.

Wow.

Good luck to you.

FWIW guys I have worked with Kooks (George) for almost two years now and I have ran into a few fitment issues as well. George always took care of the situation and made it right. Ya gotta remember the old saying.... **** happens .... its all in how you fix it...

I'm actually surprised to read this. We've done probly 30 set's of Kooks and they've all been real good.1 set we had a problem with and Kooks payed to overnight it both way's.Sent out on a monday and back on wed. Sounds like you are just having a problem with getting ahold of someone at Kooks.

There was no problems getting a hold of NEone, we did have a problem making things happen and it took all this to get it done.

And once CAT3 gets his header and ORY back fixed this can be put to rest.

So, if what to know the whole story ask, if not STFU

Sorry. I'm just tired of people saying we did not try to resolve this without having to bring it to the board.

I never wanted to have bash anyone, I still have $1100 Kooks 1 7/8 and ORY that I not sure if I'm going to install or not because of this

Then Charlie is waiting to get his header and y-pipe fixed and returned from Kooks before he has to PCS in January.

I'll give you a call if I have any problem with my headers, I'm finally going to install them this weekend.

I'll have Charlie give you a call to check up on the header and ORY that was sent back to you.

Thanks
Andrew
