I just don't know what's going on. I ordered a cam package from them a good 2 weeks ago, and they told me there'd be a 7-10 day wait on it. That was fine. 5 days later I called and I was told a 2-3 day wait. Even better. Thinking I was going to get my cam in an orderly fashion, I went ahead and scheduled an install date. I figured by today it'd be here, but gave a call to Thunder and the best he could do was guarantee me the package by the end of next week? I understand waiting on cams and what not, but wow....It's just a crappy feeling for someone to have 860 bucks of yours and you have nothing in return. Not really a complaint, just kind of shocked that Thunder is taking so long with these things. I've ordered from them before and had the product in 2-3 days easily, as I'm barely a day away from their location.

Most companies do not stock items on there sites that you see. So when you order it they then order it and put the packages together HA sucks took me over 2 months to get my nitrous Kit from a site i think it was thunder racing not sure but it was like year & half ago tho maybe they do the same thing

I know the feeling. I ordered some stuff from them and was very happy later. Their prices are competitive but they seem like the type business that takes orders knowing they dont have the item then making false delivery dates they know wont happen. If they dont have something, know it's on backorder or whatever tell me so I can choose something else and not waste my valuable time.

Many people know that we have one of the largest inventories of LS1 and LT1 parts in the country. We try to stock most of the parts that we sell, but occasionally do do run out of some of our more popular products. We are simply at the mercy of our suppliers and shipping companies. One example recently was when Crane shipped us 100 sets of double valve springs and backordered the spring seats. Even though we had the springs in stock, it didn't make much sense to ship springs to customers w/o the required seats.

We have had a large order of cams in route that hasn't made it here yet, but they HAVE shipped to us and they are on truck freight delivery, HOPEFULLY for today or tomorrow. We usually get all of the orders shipped out the same day that they arrive, so as soon as we have the cams, we will get them out the door.

Thanks for settling my doubts, Angie. As stated, Thunder Racing has never done me wrong before and I never figured they would in the future, it was only the wait that concerned me. Oh, and my cam package arrived today, and everything seems to be in order. Thanks!

The last two parts I've ordered have been out of stock. It would be nice if the site was updated or something. It sucks to be waiting for parts only to get an email saying they are out of stock and it will be a week or two until they ship.

Looks like the other sponsors will be getting some more business.

It would be near impossible for us to update our website with that kind of information. Things come in and out of stock daily. Some things are only out of stock for less then a day and then some things are months. Most all of this is out of our control if it's a supplier back order situation. Yes I know there are programs out there like Summit or Jegs has that can do this but frankly as a small business we just can't justify that kind of expense and still be competitive. Any clue on what an intergrated program like this would cost???

One very simple solution is that if you are in needs of something quick just pick up the phone and call us, toll free. We are here during normal business hours and even on Saturday. You don't have to leave a message and wait for someone to call you back, just hold on the sales line and someone WILL answer. We'll be happy to take your order over the phone, tell you if it's in stock or not, tell you when it will ship and arrive to your door, and even give you a UPS tracking number when you call. Yes you can get a tracking number before your part even ships out. I bet Summit can't even do that.

One other thing is that we do not charge you ahead of time for a back ordered part, unless it's a special order. You can cancel at any time if you can't wait and nothing ever hit your credit card.

Hope this explains a little.....

I had the same type of experience with a coil relo kit from thunder. I did recieve a call about ten minutes after I ordered to tell me that they were out of stock and would be recieving the brackets in no more than 2 weeks. Well, I waited about a month I believe it was, called numerous times without speaking to anyone, sent numerous emails that got replied to 3 weeks after the fact, and finally got frustrated and cancelled the order (on an answering machine). I am probably going to have to reorder the kit through them because I haven't been able to find a nicer one, although I will make sure that it is in stock this time as my last experience was not what I would call an ideal one.

as a software developer, i can tell you that if you have ANY kind of a computer based inventory system, you can adapt a real-time website to it. affordably.
and if you dont have a computer based inventory system, you're waay behind the times, and probly losing money because of it. i have yet to find a paper based inventory system as efficent as a basic software one.

jays specific complaint stems from him ordering something, paying EXTRA for fast shipping, and hearing nothing back, getting no part.

if nothing else, you NEED to adapt your current site to give you a email when someone orders a part for overnight shipping.
its bad business for any company to accept a order with fast shipping, and then not deliver it soon.

from the looks of it, you replied VERY VERY fast from when he posted his post above.. meaning if you had an email notice system, someone would be online to see it. im sure you dont get THAT many fast shipping orders....

jason wont ask you for a refund on that extra shipping, but i think its a good idea....

I get emails from Thunder when I order, that either state it has been shipped or it is backordered. so i think their system works.
