Default Not very happy with WOLFE!

I originally ordered my roll bar a while back and when it came time to recieve it I called to check on it and they said that it would be longer. They said they were out of mild steel. Wouldn't it be nice of them to call me and inform me of this. I decided to upgrade to the chrome-moly roll bar since they were out of mild steel. When I get the roll bar in the mail I notice that it is the wrong one. They sent me the one that mounts above my gas tank. So now I have to pay the guys installing it more than before. I contacted Wolfe about the situation and they agreed that it was their fault, but they couldn't compensate me any on the extra money it's costing me to have the tank removed because of their mistake. I would suggest going with another roll bar company if possible. Thanks, Brian

Brian:

You are correct, we did agree that we made a mistake and sent you the incorecct rear bars.

We apologized and said we would send you the correct bars right away. Normally you give the place you purchased something from the chance to fix the problem. Which we offered to do by sending you the correct bars. You would have had the bars within a couple days. You said "no" and asked for us to refund you some money. We stated again that we would send you the correct bars out right away.

Yes the bars were incorrect but we clearly offered to rectify the issue.

Asking for additional money because of installation is a little absurd. You could have waited to get the proper bars, or any experienced chassis shop could have bent two new rear bars easily.

That's not absurd, when you pay more money for a product you expect to get what you payed for and I didn't! I couldn't wait for the bars to come in because the guys TIGing it could only do it then because they already had it torn apart and I needed it done for Hot Rod drag week. It's costing me more money now to have them pull the tank to weld in the wrong bars that I didn't order so you tell me how that's absurd. The bar was also late getting to me even after I paid more to go chrome-moly because they failed to tell me they were out of mild steel. Put your feet in my shoes before you go saying something is absurd. I ordered a part and I didn't get the part I ordered therefore costing me more labor!! That's a simple fact.

so, because YOU are in a hurry, a vendor is supposed to pay for your schedule constraints? Have you tried ordering chrome moly or even mild steel tubing lately? It is in short supply for everyone, and high demand. I deal with it on a daily basis, and yes it sucks. But, I don't see the justification for Wolfe to have to pay for your installation costs because you yourself were on a tight requirement schedule.

I received the thru-speaker tubes on my previous Wolfe cage, but decided I didn't like them like that. Madman simply fabbed up some new ones to weld to the tank area instead. Any chassis builder usually has a few spare pieces of NHRA spec tubing and a bender, it wasn't that big of a deal.

I can understand your complaints about delivery times, but saying someone owes you installation cost differences because of your own schedule is absurd.

I wouldn't have been on a tight schedule had i recieved the rollbar when I was originally told it would be delivered, so how is that MY fault?

It isn't your fault, but it also isn't Wolfe's responsibility to pay for your installation. That is all that I am getting at.

No, it's not normally their responsibility to pay for installation, but when they send me the wrong parts they can help me out like any good company would do. It's like covering labor on a warranty part, which is done everyday by companies across the US.
