Post BE AWARE -www.speed-eng.com

DO NOT BUY FROM

Speed Engineering

I was looking for a RED rear sway bar when I was referred to www.speed-eng.com. So I was browsing through their website and saw a picture of a few RED sway bars and a few BLACK sway bars. I was interested in the RED Spohn sway bar as pictured. Other websites would ask for the customer to either choose the color of choice OR click on a drop down menu to choose the color/style you want. Well when I clicked on the RED sway bar, no other options were available so I assumed I was purchasing a RED Spohn rear sway bar. I also purchased a Nick Williams Throttle Body as well. All through the checkout, I did not see a calculation for any shipping charges. The total price for my purchase was $567.49. Before checking out, I read this,

Zone Rates (You will be contacted with shipping amount prior to any charges.): $0.00.
This was a direct copy/paste from the invoice. So I authorized the amount of $567.49 to be drafted from my credit card.

After a few days, I received only one of two of my packages. Just the Throttle Body, no sway bar. So I went on the cpu and tried to find a contact number to Speed Engineering. Guess what, they do not have a telephone number or address listed on their website. The only way to contact them is through email. So I emailed them asking for a tracking #. Got no reply. Kind of pissed me off that there was no telephone number, but that was my fault for not checking prior to ordering. Fortunately, someone called me back so I asked why I only received one of two parts to my order. The guy said that the sway bar is shipped directly from the manufacturer and that it would take a few more days. I also observed a $603.27 charge on my credit card form their company. I asked why and he said, "I emailed you with shipping cost but you didn't respond." I told him that I checked my email everyday from the date I ordered for a confirmation and maybe a tracking number and I never got an email. So this guy says, " It may have gone to your spam mail." I checked there and nothing there too. So they charged me and extra $35.78 for shipping without my knowledge or approval. My only approval was for $567.49.

So I received the sway bar a few days later. I opened the box and noticed it did not appear that it came from Spohn due to the packaging and it was BLACK! Not what I wanted. I emailed Speed Engineering again and what do you know, I received an email from them. They said that the comments section is for advising the correct color. Well I didn't know that I was suppose to automatically know to enter my choice of color during the order. Who really knows to specify that in the comments? He said that if a color is not specified, it will come in BLACK, which is their neutral(default) color. They did suggest to exchange it for the right one, but I will have to pay shipping again. Remember, I didn't expect to pay shipping the first time around.

To sum it up, they will not waive shipping and I am with a rear sway bar in the wrong color. This is one of the worst buying experience online for me. I highly advise NOT TO PURCHASE/ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

This is a list of our sponsors. There are phone numbers listed if you would like to call them about your order.

When I tried a checkout there was also the same no shipping fee added in to product cost and the BMR was pictured in red. Being picky I would have used the comment field just below to reiterate what was ordered and color with a request for shipping rates. At some point you know there are fees for that but having it show up prior to purchase is always preferred.

As far as shipping fees to swap - I have no information to address this with. You can send it in pm.

Obviously if you didnt receive an email from what it sounds like. You may have entered an incorrect email address or spam got a hold of it. We have been selling thousands of parts on our site for four years now with out any issues like this. I do apologize for any confusion you might have had, i did personally call you back when any questions aroused, our number is listed, and i also told you we would exchange it for you without any questions asked. We are just not going to pay for you to ship it back.

Yup, you are correct. I did not receive an email regarding the color options or shipping costs, but I did receive emails from you regarding the issues about asking for a tracking number. Why did I get those emails but not the others?

I was recently in a dispute with another company from an order that was placed in February. After 4 months, I finally received my order. So after having to go through that, I am a little hesitant to continue to order anything online. I chose to buy from your company because it was one of our sponsors unlike the other company. I may not be one of your big buyers, but I did spend $600 with you that could of been with someone else. Regardless of the amount spent, some customer service satisfaction would of been appreciated.

I still haven't found a telephone number on the website. Found the address but the number is unregistered.

I didn't give you my email over the phone. You read me my email over the phone. All I did was verify it. It is the same email address I used to register on your website before I placed the order. End of discussion. I've said my peace.
