These 2 guys/shops are the best in the business and if your not in a big hurry I would say ERIK hands down as his pricing is more competitive and you will have a lot of 1 on 1 contact with him via email as he builds your motor and gives you input (and vice versa).
He built my motor this winter and he simply has a FANTASTIC reputation in the industry and is very pleasant to contact with (and his prices are very competitve).
Also, ERIK will tell you himself he prides himself in making N/A HUGE HP LS powered motors and his knowledge and engine building skill are endless!

Seriously, you need to stay out of this thread. You have no idea what you are talking about. The OP has a particular race class he intends on running and wants to build an engine to meet those rules. This is not a street car.

It's a short list of those who have built 900+ NA engines. Also there are not a lot of builders who have 1500+ LS power adder engines to their credit.

Jeff Stealy built my first engine with the C5 R heads. It made 930.

Brian Tompson built my second engine. We went 8.59 on motor at Reynolds on the 26th of March.
Kenny Duttwieler is another good builder.

I can post a link to the story on the first engine if you want.

Good luck!

Robin

As passes go it was ugly! Hmmm, well it was suposed to be a Nitrous hit but we had an issue with our micro switch activating the Nitrous.

We had put some more clutch anticipating the Nitrous. THe car bogged a little then spun after it unloaded and ran a 1.31 short time. I have the video and it's not pretty. I only used 4 of the 5 gears as the finish line was right there. (really I was reaching for the parachute lever)

We had another starter issue and could not run any more that day. We fixed the starter, micro switch and took some gear out and added more clutch.

We drove to Huntsville on thursday with the changes ready for a decent hit. I launched at Huntsville with the Nitrous (.038 jet single NOS Fogger) . THe car was hard on the bars through first and when I pulled second it broke the aluminum 4" drive shaft. We installed the steel shaft, killed some front end travel, tightened up the extension on the rear shocks and took a little clutch out of it. We never got another pass as the drizzle started and the ORSCA race was cancelled.
We were working with Monte Smith from Holley/NOS at both tracks. He really helped us get close on our Nitrous tune up.
We only had one bottle in the car. After the chage to Lexan we figure the car weighs 2950 with me in it.
If the weather cooperates we should be able to get to Cordova this weekend. They just poured new concrete walls so the track is as good as your going to find.

Oh BTW, the adjusted altitude was 150 ft below sea level and the tune was a little lean. In the same conditions with a clutch setup for NA we felt that a high 8.3 or low 8.4 pass was possible.

We have built engines FAR exceeding your needs. Even though not all have been on a LS platform. Our Top Alcohol Dragster 465 CI Alan Johnson Block that makes over 2500 HP, with 60 PSI that spins over 10,000 RPM.

ALL of our engine machining and building processes are done IN HOUSE and not outsourced (except for crankshaft machining). We are known to be very meticulous and detail oriented.

We do engine machining for some popular names in racing including Ken Veney, Mallett Corvettes, and Skuza Motorports.

Not to mention we are celebrating 40 years of engine building excellence this year!!

If your block was injured we can see what we can do to repair it.

Please feel free to call me at 440-327-7702.

Thanks,
Leo

I would love to see some more Pro Stock/Comp Eliminator builders get on the BIG cube LSX world. It would be good times for sure.

Warren and his wife are quite a pair, super nice people.

Morgan, you got my contact stuff. Let me know what you have in mind and I know a few people that can truly get you in the right direction in where you want to go. I know you want to spend the money and have everything RIGHT!

If all else fails I can always PM you my new cell number and see what you want to get done.

Thanks for all the great information. This has been a project me and my father have been doing together and all we wanna do is finish it. It isnt about just throwing a bunch of money at something, its just finishing something we started. This thread has definatly given me everybit of information I could possibly need.

As mentioned many times... W2W. Billy builds some bad *** motors... If you really want someone who knows the LSx, then that is the place that you want.. Good luck.
