Start putting a dime for every mile in a jar so that when you tranny bites it, you have the money to pay for it.

same tranny as is in my Monte SS... and I've got 60,000 miles on it... with hitting 100mph a few times a week, jack-rabbit starts from a light, embarrassing people from launches, and the occasional 30-50 ft. burnout/layin' rubber, etc etc...

although, with $900+ just spent on new tires/balance/alignment, I suspect I'll be doin' LESS of those burnouts now...

Well these trannies are not the best. I have 65k on mine and have gone through 2 trannies. Granted the second time I found out the dealer who "fixed" it the first time rebuilt it and did a half-assed job. but I know have 25k miles on the newest tranny and no problems at all. make sure you have a trusty dealership and everything will be fine.
