The details to the Impala interior are better than the Monte's. Impala's can get them with a Bose radio. But the Monte's High End system is pretty stout as well....The Impala gets wind deflector for the sunroof and holder for the gas cap on the filler door.....Impala has curtain air bags to the Monte's seat side airbags.... Monte does have a stiffer suspension. '08 Impalas have Stabilitrack.....

When you add them all up there isn't too much difference between the two...Its more based on style. A 2 door sedan is my kind of style.

honestly don't even waste your time, these cars are good, but if i was in your situation you want a four door with power? go for a first gen cts-v you can get them for dirt cheap and waay better in every department its a 4 dour, more powerful corvette engine, manual, rwd (fun) ,**** load of of aftermarket parts, and whoever said the monte is sexier , just remember its a caddy and chicks Love caddys. when i bought my grand prix gxp i underestimated the lack of mods and the pain in the *** of a fwd v8 the wheelspin gets kind of embarrassing sometimes. a cts v is a much better option goat isnt too far off either but believe me what you are looking for sir is a cts-v.

I want to get my wife the G8 GXP when ever it comes out, but Ill wait till the 2nd production year, So I can get a used one certified for $15K less, with only a few thousand miles, thats how I bought my Monte and save at least $10K. I don't care if Im the first owner or not.

I like the G8's. As far as the V recomendation, just be ready to fix them since the rear ends in those are notorious for being really shitty.

Monte or GXP. Sorry but Impala's look to boring. Interior may be nice but Chevy didn't do much on the exterior to set it apart from the rest of their line up.

I don't really think the Imps are boring looking, obviously, but looks are subjective so that's really irrelevant. Do agree on the Monte though, I don't see a whole lot of them. Saw an SS the other day that's one of the few I've seen since I got my Imp in April 07 and started paying attention to them. I don't see many Imp SS's though, either. And I've only ever seen one my color(red). The rest are usually black or silver.

I did like the GXP styling a little better, but I thought the interior was horrendous, and since I spend more time in the car driving then I do outside staring at the car I chose the more subdued look of the Imp over the GXP. Had I not hated the GXP interior I may have went with that. I did have my eye on a black MCSS too but I didn't want another 2 door car again.

There are tons of impalas out there but i almost never see an ss. I see more monte ss than impala ss around here. And more GXP's than either of the chevys

I think the GXP's are more sporty looking. tap shift, red brakes, finder vents and etc.
thats my 2 cents
