Default HELP on choosing between a Monte SS or Impala SS

Like the title says need help on choosing between the MCss and Impala ss like to hear the pros and cons. Ive been saving up money past two months and hopefully by next year in march would be able to have save enough for a good amount of down payment and low payments.

Essentially the same car. I checked out a MCSS, but I decided that I didn't want another 2 door car, so that made my decision for me. Don't need 4 doors, go for the MC. Couple very minor differences but nothing I would classify as pros or cons.

Monte if you want a 2 door large car with "IMO" sporty look
Impala for if you have a family and need a 4 door. I personally want one of each i'm looking into buying a new impala SS for my wife so i can keep everyones asses out of monte

Well, unless you are a Chevy person, I would say the Grand Prix GXP is where it's at. Of course, I'm biased because I own one! But the GXP has better brakes, better handling, better seats, and looks better than the Monte or Impala IMO.

But your question mentioned the Monte or Impala. The real question is if you want two or four doors, as the cars are really the same except for that difference. Any way you go, I think you'll be happy!

gxp brakes are actually cheap to replace...

but the post asked imp or monte....like everyone said 2 doors or 4 doors...i like the monte over the imp looks wise - both are nice cars though.

Aside from the instrument panel, the MCSS and ImpSS only share the undercarriage. Handling may only be the tires, where the Chevy's get the Eagles. F1 A/S's fixed any handling issues my car had.

My parents have an Imp an love it, I don't think the seats are comfortable, they don't rake enough for me to stay in the seat. I do like the GP's interior / seats, but there are also millions of them on the road.

And like Hexx said - they're all rare in the LS4 option, so you won't do bad with anything you chose.

As everyone else has said, there is really no mechanical difference between the impala and monte carlo. I personally would go the the monte, not because I am biased, but I think the monte looks more "sporty."

A monte carlo SS will stand out in comparision to the monte models (LT and LTZ). The Impala SS, , except for the wheels, looks almost identical to the other impala models.

Just my $.02

My mother has had an 06 Impala SS for 9 months, I really like the interior of that car. Pretty good quality plastics, nice design. The seat are pretty comfy...but not good for cornering... I have owned an 06 GXP for the last month. The seats are great, but I think the interior is on par with the cheapest plastics. The monte has basically the same interior it did in 2000.

IMHO
Impala SS=best over all car
GXP=best handling, seats, starship enterprise amount of buttons
MCSS=oldest car design, but looks the coolest.

The interior of the Monte is almost the same as the Impala
