probably had more into it than they could get selling. the mechanicals look alright but who wants a cloth interior. replace those with racing seats or somethin to make it look cool. seats from a gto or be more creative if you wanna get over 10k for it.

You know...thats actually a pretty cool car! especially the 5 speed, might even get decent mpg, my fathers old Deville got around 19 in the city, with a 5 speed and being lighter? should get around 21 mpg.

This guy has been trying to sell this for years. Atleast he lost the roof scoops that were on it last time he had it for sale, which were just those cheesey hood scoops you can buy, only put on the roof. Body kit is ugly. Northstar swap has been done on alot of cars, I wouldn't use it myself. Do give him props on doing a manual tranny swap though, that's pretty sweet. It would be pretty cool if he kept it stock looking, and lost the badge that says supercharged on it.

I doubt he was really after performance and more just wanted something different because he could make alot more power from the L67 assuming it was previously a GTP.

It's really is awesome, that someone besides a commercial distributor has done some-thing other than a stock configuration. I love the manual trans!!!

The rear of that car is just ugly and those 4.6 badges look way out of place. With the amount of money he spent swaping in that engine he could of put that towards the turbo kit for the 3.8sc and be in the 11's... I bet that car isn't faster then a 3.8sc that just has a 3.4 pully with supporting mods.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I don't think its all about how fast that particular one is, it's still a GP coupe with a V8 and a 5 speed manual; what the manufacturer should've built to begin with. Execution of the idea may not be perfect, but it's still damn cool. (Minus the wheels & body kit of course)

Then why the hell didn't he build it right. The fit and finish on that car is just bad. I thought its suppose to be about function and form. Not lets swap in a engine everyone else using into a car that has had plenty of v8 swaps before and make it slower than one with $1500 worth of mods.

Exactly. The last time this was for sale someone posted it on NAIOA, we all concluded that he either should have modded the L67, or if he was hell bent on a V8, atleast use an LSx. It just turned into a pissing match though since there is a member there who has an Eldorado with a N* and thinks they're better than anything.

The real question I want to ask is what subframe did they use and more importantly what transaxle they used. I don't know of any GM FWD 5-speeds, besides the old 3.4 DOHC cars, let alone one that bolts to the N*. I can't tell by the pictures but, there doesn't seem to be an adapter plate.

The transaxle 5MT60 aka Getrag 284 that was orginially mated to the old Chevrolet 60 Degree V6 3.4 Twin Dual Cam. Uses a pull style clutch. That transaxle is related to the Muncie 282, standard diaphragm clutch. All FWD engines of that time period except the Quad4 had the same bolt pattern so no adaptor plates are used.

I applaud the effort put into the drive train no doubt a set up like that would be much desirable. The body kit, wheels, and Lumina Z34 shift **** can go in the trash.

Well the conclusion wasn't based on a lack of power or anything. Naturally the N* is making what...300hp or so, so there's not a lack of power. We just figured that from a mod standpoint the LSx would be a better choice. But, if he had an L67, it's not hard to make that into a beast, and for cheaper. I would have just modded that. Plenty of L67's that will spank LS4's and N* without breaking a sweat.
