Default *Vid* Classic Chambered Muffler

For the money I'm pretty happy with this muffler. It's super quiet while cruising, although it is a little loud in the cabin while accelerating from a light.

Muffler - $75 (24") online
Muffler shop - $55

This is otherwise a totally stock car, and stock exhaust. They just cut out the factory mufflers for straight pipe, and put the Classic Chambered muffler where the resonator was.

Let me know what you think! I hate the rev limiter on this car BTW...

**EDIT** I added a day shot.

**Edit again** Adding interior noise vids

normal acceleration - http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d9...rmal_accel.flv

You asked about popping... I only get it if I lock the car in gear and force it to engine brake - http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d9...ke_popping.flv

That sounds nice, i think i found my new exhaust....

If you rev it to 3500 let it fall to 3000 and then stab the go peddle again the engine will get up into the 4000 rpm area...just playing in my garage lol

That sounds pretty sweet. No popping huh? I'm seriously considering this for my Impala. How loud is it inside during normal driving and do you think it would be too loud inside for an infant? Maybe you could give us an early christmas present and get some vids while driving, and maybe even some take offs from outside. Thanks!

I've got newborn twins (2 weeks old woo hoo!). I will say it's fairly loud inside under light acceleration... oddly enough the interior noise goes down in the upper RPM range. Once you get to cruising speed it's VERY quiet inside.

I'll try and get some interior noise vids tonight. Drive by's are a little difficult... but I'll see if I can talk my wife into shooting them for me! (I can see her eyes rolling now)

LOL, twin girls! The twins + my 4 year old daughter + my wife... thank God I have a dog so at least I can order somebody around.

I added some vids for the interior noise while I was at lunch. The camera doesn't pick up a low frequency bass note that's present during light throttle. All in all I'm not worried about the kids, it's not a terrible drone or anything.

Thanks for all the feedback!
Mark

Very nice sound. I'm curious though, why is your engine light lit up though? I'm guessing that was on before you added the muffler.

Yea, crank position sensor code. I plugged in a different body control module into my car without getting it programmed which threw the code.

Dealer wants $100 to clear it...

Thanks for the quick reply and congrats on the twins(even if you're out numbered 4to1)! We are expecting our 1st in the middle of Jan, also a girl. And if your wife rolls her eyes about the drive by, just remind her of the warm weather you guys have. Today in MI it went from 45 at 8am down to 20 by 5pm.

Sounds awesome, I just got my super 40's today and will probably have them put on friday, just debating on removing the resonator? If anyone is looking for super 40's I got them for $69 a piece at wundercarparts.com.

Hey Bryan, was that you that waved at me on Buttles today? If so, your car looks great!

I'd like to let everybody know that I started to get a little drone on the highway... I didn't notice it at first, maybe the muffler had to wear in a little. It's not really noticeable unless you're going uphill or something and loading the motor up while cruising.

I've got a little bit of the 'helicopter' sound due to the DoD (AFM, whatever)also. I'm not sure if it wasn't there are first, or if I just didn't notice...
